PSP & Viveza
Hello everyone. Use X9 on win 7, and nik-collection plugins. Everything works well, except Viveza, in which the image looks desaturated, almost in B / W. Zooming in at 30% and over, it's all right. Only that it is difficult to have an idea of the whole. Did anyone have the same problems? Thank you

Re: PSP & Viveza
Could you perhaps attach an image of the Viveza screen within PSP showing what it looks like when you first open it with your own image in the screen? That might give us a better idea of what you are seeing. In my own case, I have no desaturation at all when I first open an image in Viveza 2, though of course I can then desaturate, or up the saturation, using the Viveza controls.
I assume you also have Viveza 2?

Re: PSP & Viveza
This problem was mentioned some time ago in another thread, and no solution was found except to keep the image at 33% zoom.

Ken, how long have you had Viveza installed. In the previous thread I believe the OP didn't originally have the problem but it started after he had to reinstall the plugin. It would also be nice to hear from others again to see if you are the only one not showing desaturation, if there are others, and whether or not desaturation without zooming in is more common or less common with users.

Re: PSP & Viveza
I installed the Nik Collection on 26 March 2016. I confess I don't use it much. But I just opened it three times to look at different images. In none of them could I detect any desaturation at any zoom level.
EDIT: Just to test this further, I just opened another of my computers which also has PSP X9 on it. It runs Windows 10 Pro. My main computer runs Win 10 Home. I opened a brightly coloured image and applied Viveza to it. And it showed as heavily desturated, though still far from close to B&W.
I am unable to account for why the two computers react differently. I wondered if it might be a graphics card issue. The Win 10 machine uses an NVidia GPU. My main computer is a dual on-board Intel and separate NVidia GPU. The Intel is set as default, but I can choose to open specific programs with the NVidia card. The image above was taken when using the Intel card. But when I opened PSP using NVidia, the result with Viveza was identical.
FWIW Viveza in an old version of Photoshop (CS2) does not show any desaturation on either computer. Nor does Photoshop Elements 14 on my main one.
Wandering off-topic a bit, I might note that Viveza in both Photoshop and Photoshop Elements has an extra button labelled "Brush" to the immediate left of the Cancel and OK buttons in the bottom right of the Viveza screen. PSP does not show this button.

Re: PSP & Viveza
Yes, the image for me in Viveza is desaturated but not B&W, and I believe that is the case with the others reporting the issue also. Once you zoom to 30% or higher it shows natural saturation again. It seems to happen with multiple versions of PSP.Ken Berry wrote:EDIT: Just to test this further, I just opened another of my computers which also has PSP X9 on it. It runs Windows 10 Pro. Re: PSP & Viveza
FWIW.
I opened an image, (16 bit tiff), in PSPx8. Then opened Viveza. In Viveza the colours were way off. However after a few minor adjustment, saturation and contrast, I closed Viveza and the image was ok back in PSPx8. The edits worked fine. Seems the preview in Viveza is broken. I repeated the exercise in Photoline. Same results.

Re: PSP & Viveza
Agree that the preview is off unless you zoom in. This is PSPX9 with Viveza 2 (installed in March of 2016). As you can see the image is definitely desaturated compared to the original which is visible in the PSP workspace directly below the Viveza 2 panel.

Re: PSP & Viveza
I've also tried another computer, with Radeon 2Gb graphics card, with the same result. With lightroom instead, there are no problems.
