I've been building a library of images that you are welcome to freely use in your projects. They are all original...all my own work. I think a lot of them could be made into cool textures for titles, backgrounds, visual effects and other things. All I ask is to be attributed as indicated on my homepage:
Sound Image
The images are on my "TXR" pages.
I'm adding new ones all the time, so be sure to check back often. I sincerely hope that some of them are useful. Any and all constructive feedback is welcome and always appreciated.
All the best,
Eric

Here's his main page: http://soundimage.org/ You will see the TXR pages down towards the bottom of the index. I guess he didn't add the website here because he is a long-time contributor of the music files in a separate thread here, and each addition has links to his website.
Thanks Eric. The parchment ones on that page will be particularly useful to me as I tend to use that effect a lot in a number of my backward-looking projects... Backward in time, I mean -- old buildings, that sort of thing.

Awesome...feel free to send me a link to your project if you wish...I love to see how creative people are using my work!
I've just uploaded over 100 new stone and metal texture images, standard and seamless, that I took at a couple of archaeological sites over the weekend. I think a lot of the stone textures could work well for VFX....(castles and other structures.) You'll find them here:
I've uploaded about 100 new fabric texture images on my TXR - FABRIC page. They are all seamless, 2048X2048 and ready for tiling. New fabric types include Leather, Rayon, Metal Linens, Dyed Acrylics and various weaves. They might be useful in VFX for clothes for characters, furniture coverings, carpets, or anything else you can think of. You'll find them here:
If anyone happens to need a couple of distressed wooden door images, they are on my TXR - WOOD page as well. I think they look really cool. As always, feel free to edit as needed.

You're very welcome!
I've opened a fur textures page and uploaded about 70 images, both seamless and standard, to get it started. Some of them might be useful for other things, like carpets, rugs, etc. Some also have funky weaves so I included them for fun.
Slightly off-topic and slightly related, but does anyone know how this relates to design patents and copyright? I was reading a bit about how you can patent your own designs, both in the physical world and in the digital. And I'm curious as to what it means for the ownership of the design if I use a texture from this database?
