Can PSPX9 open pspimage files from PSP9?

I have been a long-time user of Paint Shop Pro 9 and had it installed on my computer for months and used it often when it suddenly stopped working - a similar problem to something another user posted about. That was months ago, however, and I don't really feel like dealing with it any more. At this point, I'm considering getting the newer version of the software (X9). However, it's important to me that it be able to open my old Paint Shop Pro 9 .pspimage files perfectly. Can PSPX9 do this?
