Re: X9 Pro audio fade out causes scratchy blip
It's a bug!!! Must be fixed. Tedious work arounds are not a solution
And yes... blip is on render, after a cross fade... it's almost like a reverb.. song fades out and just when you expedt it to be gone you hear the scratch. It's awful.
Hope the folks at Corel are seeing this and will address. I agree, program is pretty worthless without a fix.

well , we do have FF template maker so why bother with blips....
Your comments regarding FF do not help, nothing to do with this problem.
If you wish to complain where Corel are using their resources in fixing the program then contact Corel.
Please do not refer to FF in unrelated topics.

Re: X9 Pro audio fade out causes scratchy blip
Agree. I have 5 "blips" in a 30 minute production that appear regardless of fade on or off or cross fade. Main video is silenced and am using VoiceOver on audio track and my background music is clean. If this has been around in as many versions as this thread indicates, I doubt very much anyone is working on it, especially Corel. The only McGiver I can come up with (and this may have already been covered but I am loathe to scrutinize every post on the board) is to render an audio file of my 30 minute production, fix the blips in a 3rd party sound editor and then insert the repaired audio into an audio track, silencing all other audio. I am on a deadline that precludes waiting for Corel. Sigh. If I ever had reason to use only Premier Pro for future work, this is it. Such a shame.Ilene wrote:It's a bug!!! Must be fixed. Well yes it has been covered in this very thread so there is no need to "scrutinize every post on the board" to find it.Stolman wrote:The only McGiver I can come up with (and this may have already been covered but I am loathe to scrutinize every post on the board) is to render an audio file of my 30 minute production, fix the blips in a 3rd party sound editor and then insert the repaired audio into an audio track, silencing all other audio.

Hi Stolman
A few users are suffering from this problem even though the post is quite large, we are talking about a handful of people.
If you have not contacted Corel Support then you should.
Can you provide samples of your project?
Create a shorter project that shows your audio problem, then create a Smart Package (File Menu) , (make sure you tick the “include all unused trackers in the project”)
I assume your issue only shows after rendering, so render the project and add the new file to the Smart Package folder.
Zip that folder and upload to a sharing site, One Drive, Google Drive , DropBox etc. Some sites have a 2 Gb limit?
Give the Smart Package to Corel Support and also provide us with the Share link.
Thanks
Help us to help you, and yes I believe Corel are looking at this issue.

I would guess more people have the issue... they just dont know bc they have different work flow or maybe don't do as much w Audio. However and Regardless... this is an issue that didnt exist w V7 and lower... and my work flow has been the same for years!
I spoke with corel yesterday.... they say they are working on it.
The more people that call... the higher priority it will have, especially if you site this thread.
Please(!!) Smart Package and report!

Re: X9 Pro audio fade out causes scratchy blip
Corel states that the Update X10.5 includes:lata wrote:I was testing an Audio Blip issue for one of the forum users, Corel provided me with a hot fix, when I applied it my X10 did not run, Corel then said the fix is for X10.5, as yet that service pack had not been released, however Corel provided me with a link for X10.5 prior to official release.
So I manual installed 10.5, Unfortunately Audio blips still a problem
• New native support for videos captured in portrait orientation
• New 360-degree video format and conversion support
• New 360-degree video editing: Add and edit 360-degree titles and objects in your 360 video projects.
• New Stop Motion Grid options that serve as a reference for object movement
• Enhanced video trimming and frame selection in Time Remapping
• Enhanced MXF support extends compatibility to MPEG-2
I don't see any mention of fixing audio blips. So is it still true that this audio bug remains unfixed? If so then there is little obvious reason to take the risk of Update X10.5.
Furthermore, as I understand the comments on this forum, Update X10.5 breaks the ability to reopen X10 VSPs. Is this true? If so then it's a fatal bug for my use of this software.
Thanks.

Re: X9 Pro audio fade out causes scratchy blip
i will not download any hot fixes until we know for sure that this is fixed
They are obviously stumped.
Ludicrous that this can't be fixed
Ludicrous that 10.5 cant open 10 projects??!!
They should just go back to X7 and fgure out what changed in audio settings. Audio blips were never a problem before
Thanks for sharing this update. Maybe itnoa time to move on

Re: X9 Pro audio fade out causes scratchy blip
Hi tletter
Corel provided a hot fix in the means of 4 replacement .dll files and can only be applied to X10.5.
The blip fix was not part of the service pack X10.5
Tletter if you can replicate the blips I can send you the hot fix files to try, but pointless doing that unless you can replicate the issue.
For me the hot fix seemed to work on some projects but not others. I thought it may be associated with projects made with X10, so I recreated a few test projects. Using X10.5.
I have to say that I did struggle in replicating the blips which see so random, but still present. An IP project created by Ilene, retested, is now clear of blips, so result.
Then I found another project that had blips. -- difficult and confusing to say the least.
Service Pack updates
The final update on earlier versions (x8.5 , x9.5 and x10.5) actually changes the program from X10 to X10.5 respectively, effectively we are using a new program, unlike SP1 which simply fixes issues and updates the version number.
VSP.s made using X10 cannot be opened using X9 unless we save as backward compatible.
That also goes for vsp’s made with X10.5, in that they cannot be opened using X10 or X8 etc. that does not stop us in saving the project as backward compatible for X9, the project would then open using x10.
Unless you share your projects with other users then you are not gonna notice this anomaly as you can only install one version of Video Studio.

I've made multiple entries in this thread describing this very issue that I'm having, so yes I can replicate the problem. Is there a URL for this fix? Thanks.lata wrote:Tletter if you can replicate the blips I can send you the hot fix files to try, but pointless doing that unless you can replicate the issue.

Re: X9 Pro audio fade out causes scratchy blip
Hi
Are you able to provide a sample project showing the blip issue, that would help as the problem for us is quite random difficult to replicate.
I have sent a mail to you containing the hotfix, ( must be applied to X10.5) until I am satisfied that the fix works I will not post the files to the forum.

Re: X9 Pro audio fade out causes scratchy blip
OK, finally got time to do this. FYI, I eliminated all but the audio. Blip has to do with overlay on music track 2. if I eliminate the overlay, the blip disappears. Blip is at 4 min 19 secs so fast fwd to about 4:10. LMK if you need anything else.lata wrote:Hi Stolman

Re: X9 Pro audio fade out causes scratchy blip
Hi Stolman
Frustrating after your work pulling together your "Blip" project, but, sorry, I do not hear the blip by playing the VSP project in X9.
What I do get is, if I pull the MP4 file into Audacity ( I have it set up that it strips the audio from a video file) I can "see" the wave form. There is a definite blip at 4:19. Listening very carefully, it sounds like a replay of the word "guest" as if the sound has tried to loop before being terminated/truncated. Wonder what others get?

Re: X9 Pro audio fade out causes scratchy blip
Hi Stolman
Yes I see a blip but only after rendering the project to a Wav file.
I then add the wav file to Music track 1, switch to Sound mixer to view wave form.
Zoom timeline to view last few frames, the blip shows to the end of the fade ramp.
John, can you try the above, I was using X9.
My X10 has the hot fix applied and did not show the blip.
Have to rush out just now but will post the link to the hot fix later
By the way the hotfix is for X10.5 only
Stolman what version of Video Studio are you using?

Re: X9 Pro audio fade out causes scratchy blip
Hi Trevor
Please change the attached file extension to .jpg. Open in a Photo program.
Tested the Ozark-K2-blip.VSP in X10.5 - got the same as yourself, namely:
No blip apparent when replayed from the timeline.
Blip audible after rendering audio to WAV format ( also apparent when rendered to MP4 format). The attached screen shot shows the Audacity WAV file analysis. If you examine the last blip (extreme right) and compare to the "guest" blip at the end of the Voice Over proper - ie about 4:18.4 they are identical. My uninformed guess is that when flushing the Audio buffer to complete the file, there is a residual piece of date (echo?) being written to the file end. This may also partly explain the apparent random nature of the blip appearance/non-appearance, depending on what is in the buffer to be echoed.
