That is pathetic and sad.
I havent had a chance yet... guess no need to bother.
Maybe by X11 they will figure this out.

Hi Ilene
You said…
“That is pathetic and sad.”
I could say that about your following comment
“I havent had a chance yet... guess no need to bother.”
"Maybe by X11 they will figure this out." ... not without your help.
Well yes there is a need to “bother” if only to prove to yourself.
Corel have gone to the trouble in trying to fix this issue, in return we should try their hot fix, test their work.
I mentioned in earlier posts that I had mixed results, but given the complexity and randomness of results we should at least try.
I tested your IP projects + others and found no blips, I also tested Stolman’s project “Ozark-K2.vsp, again no blips. Just ran a render again using Ozark-K2 with no blips.
Clearly we are getting mixed results, but that was the same from your original post.
Ilene were you able to replicate Stolmans project?

Re: X9 Pro audio fade out causes scratchy blip
Trevor... i have not tried.. just been busy and getting set to go away for a few weeks.
I only meant "i shouldnt bother" bc i have sometimes had bad results when i upgrade and make changes to my corel work space... and when Im in the middle of projects, I can't take the chance.
I do want to get this solved, so I'll look when i return fr my trip.
Just to clarify.. this update to 10.5, is just a patch and shouldnt affect any of my libraries etc in x10? Just download from the prompt and X10 updates -- and when you re-open 10 it will look the same as before?

Correct, your version number will update and be X10.5.0.60 as viewed via Help - About.Ilene wrote:Trevor...

If you are worried you can Export the library to create a backup before updating to X10.5

Update:Ilene wrote:That is pathetic and sad.

Maybe by X11 they will figure this out.
1) I retried rendered the blip file in MP4. The rendering stopped, VS dropped back into the SHARE screen (i.e. sans rendering window) and no file was created. Tried several times with both the blip file and the entire project.
2) I restarted my PC and re-rendered the blip file in MPEG-4. This time it created an MP4 file with no blip.
3) I tried creating the entire project and (like item 1) the rendering stopped at about 5%, VS dropped back into the SHARE screen and no file was created.
4) I restarted the PC and retried rendering the full project to MP4, same issue (as item 3).
5) I restarted the PC and tried rendering the full file to MP4 on another drive (my C is SSD). Same issue.
6) I restarted the PC and tried rendering the full file the WMV on another drive (HDD). Same issue.
I intend to remove the hot fix, re-render to AVI and edit in Premier Pro by splitting the audio out and fixing the 1/2 dozen blips I have.
I wish I had time (and desire) to troubleshoot for Corel, but they pay poorly.

Hi Stolman
Your p**** offness is understood. You said you have applied the hotfix: could you double check please that you have replaced/renamed the correct dlls? There are so many of them with very similar names, it is very easy to go wrong.
My application worked on the example you provided, but I had to take my time finding the dlls to be replaced. Had a couple of unsuccessful goes before doing it how I should have, in the first place.

Re: X9 Pro audio fade out causes scratchy blip
Hi Stolman
The sample project you provided now renders without problems as your (2) comment.
So something has improved.
The blip issue has never been a render failure.
We do not have the entire project to work with, but there could be an additional problem at 5%.
So what do you see on the timeline at 5%. How many seconds is that into the project?
If you render the entire project using X9 are there any problems other than creating blips.
Are you able to provide the entire project for us to test?

(1) 5% is 1:30 into the project. Same base of music in track 2 and VoiceOver in Audio track.lata wrote:Hi Stolman

(3) I can indeed provide the entire project, however, it is VERY large.

Re: X9 Pro audio fade out causes scratchy blip
I occasionally have renders fail at certain percentages of the project. Project could have rendered past that point many times before and then all of a sudden it decides to hiccup at a point and then no matter what i do (restart program or computer. The render will always fail at that point). Ie. 20% or whatever the place is.
Sometimes I replace an effect at that point and will solve the problem and others i just render the project in small bits, using Smart Render and extend the mark out point till I get to the end .... tedious to say the least. This is to try and isolate the problem... and of course to find a way to get a completed render!
However ... when this happens, I get an error message that says something like VS not responding , And shows a percentage completed thus far -- i dont get tossed back to the "Share" screen. That's more disconcerting. Perhpas an indication that there is something really wrong w the rendering process in your program?
Would like to know more anout this before I apply fixes. Don't need to trade one probelm for another, which is even more crippling

Unfortunately yes video can be very large, so what is Very large, I assume your project to be 30 minutes or so?Stolman wrote:lata wrote:Hi Stolman

if you can provide a 10 minute project, I suppose about 1 Gb.
and if you can upload the files I will download.
Uploading will be much slower than downloading, at least that's how it is for my connection.

Re: X9 Pro audio fade out causes scratchy blip
Hi Trevor,
When I start carving up the project to create a short segment that contains multiple blips, the blips either disappear or are diminished.
Thank you for your support and interest on this. But at this point I am out of runway and need to create a usable audio track via other means.
Best,
Bill

Re: X9 Pro audio fade out causes scratchy blip
Trevor,
Thought I would update this now that I have time. Sadly, the clowns at Corel have not communicated any interest in resolving this.
I McGyver'd a fix after determining that the issue was in the voice track, not any of the music tracks. I determined this by muting (and subsequently deleting) all music tracks, then rendering a WAV file. The blips were still present. I then edited all the (6) blips out of the WAV. I then muted the voice track in the project, added the "repaired" WAV file to a new music track and un-muted all other music tracks. I re-rendered and got my desired result. Sorry it took so long to respond. Neither VS10 Ultimate or the hot fix were able to resolve the problem. Hope this helps others.

In my case the blips are in the music tracks where there are transitions. I never have transitions in the voice track so it's not an issue on that track in my case.Stolman wrote:... after determining that the issue was in the voice track, not any of the music tracks
I've replaced the DLLs with the hotfix ones that were supposed to have corrected the blip issue in X10.5 but blips are still there - disappointing!

Re: X9 Pro audio fade out causes scratchy blip
Same .. dont use voice track.. only music. Think you just got lucky you removed and fixed the track.
My consistent work around has been... to rip my audio fr cds... so that i start w ulead cd wav files as opposed to using mp3's or other. If i hear the blip, i copy that music track to my lib. Open a new project file. Add the audio clip to a fresh timeline. Render the audio file as mp4 (which is my intended output format for audio/video). Then I open the orig project file and replace the audio file w my new one.
This has really minimized the blips.
The problem is that it is inflexible. If you want to make changes to your project that involve altering the music, you have to repeat all of these steps... ( i rarely ise a whole song and often have cuts in my music, so it's very tedious)...
I've given up on corel fixing this. Ive got the full adobe suite now.. just have to find time to ride the learning curve!
