Saving Proxy Files for Later Use

Post by tank8681 »

Hi everyone! I was wondering how I can save proxy files and then use those same files in the future in a project instead of having to re-proxy the files every time I open a save. Am I just being dumb? I have a lot of huge projects with 4k video and having to proxy each and every file every time I open the project is getting very tedious. Is there anyway I can proxy a file and then in the future, be able to open it and edit as normal? Any help is greatly appreciated! I do not have much experience with editing.

Hi tank8681

and welcome to the forums.

Proxy files are normally created once then used each time we open our project.
If you are having to create proxy files again then something is wrong.
Are you saving proxy files to the default location or have you allocated a new folder,?
If that folder is available when you launch Video Studio then the files should be in tact, if you have saved them to an external drive then maybe the program loses those files and you have to start again.

Just trying to think of reasons why?

So have you changed anything from the default settings.
