Upgrade X6 Ultimate to X9 Ultimate and Topaz

Post by caspia1 »

If I upgrade (on-line as before) from X6 Ultimate to X9 Ultimate, will I have to re-install Topaz Remask or is it done automatically?
Will the upgrade also keep my set preferences or will I have to reset them again?
Thanks for a response.

You will not have to reinstall Topaz ReMask; just point to it in File -> Preferences -> File Locations - Plug-ins. And yes, you will need to set up your preferences in X9.

Just so you know, an upgrade with a Corel product does not replace the original version. You get the full new version, just at an upgrade price. So after installing X9 you will still have X6 as well. Many of us here have various versions of PSP on the same computer.

Try as I might I cannot get Topaz remask into my new X9 Ultimate.
I get to the final stage which is ADD, I select Topaz and ok it.
But, when I open PSP and open an image, duplicate layer, then effects.....the plug-in is shaded. It worked fine with X6.
As I use Topaz all the time, this is a real nuisance.
Please advise.

I have ReMask 3, 4 & 5 all operational in the 32-bit version of PSPX9 and Remask5 in the 64-bit version of PSPX9 with no issues.

Some reasons why ReMask would show as grayed out.

Also, its best to make sure you have the latest version of ReMask on your system. You can always get the most up-to-date version from the Downloads page https://www.topazlabs.com/downloads

Finally got it working by the process of elimination.
I appear to have downloaded X9 in both 32bit and 64bit versions
Also, I had Remask 4 and 5.
By trying it out various ways I got Remask 4 to work with 32bit in the X9.
When I have time I will try to make it work as Remask 5 and 64bit.
At least i can work for the moment. Thanks for your comments, Kathy.

Glad you have something you can work with. By the way ReMask 5 is located in C:\Program Files\Topaz Labs not C:\Program Files (X86)\Topaz Labs like previous versions of ReMask and it will work in both the 32-bit and 64-bit version of PSPX9. Good luck.
