Is There A Way To Save/Export Projects?

Post by NYCGRIFF »

I'm working on a projects that has lots of graphics and text files. I'm trying to figure out a way to save or export the entire project so that I can start from the point where I left off. As of now, I have to import each graphic element one by one when resuming a previously incomplete project. Thanks.

I suppose that depends on what you're doing and how you're doing it.

PSP has a custom file type called PSPImage that saves all layers, vectors, etc. So saving as a PSPImage file will save all of your current work on the current image. If you're talking about constantly having other graphics open alongside the current image that you open and close constantly that gets a bit harder.

Here are some ways that I can think of to do the second one.

1) Simply copy all resources into a layer inside the current image. You can then duplicate the layers whenever you need to make use of them. Just turn off their visibility so you don't deal with them when you don't need them.

2) Use manage mode to add them to a collection. You can then have that collection open in the organizer palette quick and easy access to the files you need without needing to load them into the program first. Just open them only when you need them.

3) Similar to #2, but avoids creating collections. Use Trays. Still uses the organizer palette but you create a new tray and drag all of the resources you want to use into this tray. This tray will then be available for use until you remove it.

Further to Levi's suggestions, for the second situation you could also just save a workspace that includes all of the images open in the workspace, making sure to check the Include Open Images box, give that workspace a project name, and load that workspace when continuing with that specific project. Continue saving that workspace, overwriting the existing one, each time you leave the unfinished project so that, when reloaded, it would reflect the last state you were in. You could save different projects with their own workspace and name, and delete them once a project is completed.
