I installed Videostudio Ultimate X10 and the installer said everything's fine. When I attempted to start the program nothing happened.
I downloaded and installed the SP 1 but no effect. The installer still says everything's fine but the program is not listed in the Windows programs.
There is a crypted crash dump file that tells me nothing. I run Win 8.1, 64bit. There is a version of Videostudio X9 running correct on the same PC. Any idea about this problem?

Re: Videostudio Ultimate X10 does not start
Hi
And welcome to the forums
When we first launch Video Studio it accesses the internet to register the program, easy to do by inserting our e-mail address.
Without that initial registration VS will not run.
Problems with your internet could affect that process, as could problems with the Corel server
Try turning your internet off…………
Launch Video Studio, you should receive a panel giving registration options, choose to register later.
It’s a while since I did the above so things may have changed but worth a try
If that works try registering your program using your Corel account.

Re: Videostudio Ultimate X10 does not start
If I may pop in on this, I just encountered this odd problem (VSPx10 Ultimate SP1 not starting, splash logo would appear and go away and that was it)...
I tried many things (running with no background applications, uninstalling/reinstalling VSPx10u, etc) but what solved it for me was this:
- Uninstall Corel VSPx10 Ultimate
- Roll back GPU drivers to previous version (in my case, NVIDIA drivers from 381.89 to 376.33, downloaded from NVIDIA website)
- Reinstall Corel VSPx10 Ultimate (installing SP1 if you desire, it continued to start fine with SP1 for me)
--reboot between all steps and at end
Note: Just 'Uninstalling and Reinstalling' did not work for me, for some reason, I had to change GPU drivers as well
Although modern OS's don't 'need' to reboot as often, it is done to fully unload/load everything and seems to help with many issues these days still.
Not sure what it doesn't like with the newest NVIDIA drivers (out 2017-04-24). I will try Updating the GPU drivers again and see if it still works alright.
It may possibly be related to SP1, as that is another recent change in the system, but that is speculation on my part, on the issue.
Just adding this info in case it helps anyone else (although it may of course be specific to my system).
