Corel PaintShop Pro X9 (64-bit) Blue screen of death

Post by clareparry7 »

Hi i was wondering if anyone could help shed some light on issues i am having running Corel PaintShop Pro X9 (64-bit) on my pc. The program loads up fine, however as soon as i try to do anything at all with an image i get a SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION blue screen of death. i have reinstalled the program several times, reinstalled windows 8.1 several times, graphics drivers are up to date. i do not run anything else on the pc other than corel paintshop pro x9. i use the pc to edit photos taken on my sony experia x phone that is all i do. i have tried running the program in troubleshoot mode, and also as administrator it makes no difference. Once the pc restarts the file i was attempting to work on becomes corrupt and i am no longer able to access it. I have serched the internet but not been able to find anything to do with this version of the product only older versions. thankyou for reading.

When I googled System Service Exception the suggestion was that it might be a hard drive error.
This was one of the sites:
