Gradient to SVG and CSS3

Post by LeviFiction »

Script Name: GradientToCSS
Download Link: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B8FlF ... GJsVmhZTEE
Compatability: 8 - X9 (tested in 8, XI, X7, x8, X9)
Requirements: Place in Scripts-Trusted Folder
Description:
So, this is one of the many throw away scripts I create while developing possible functions for other scripts. (SVG Export here I come)

This script does one thing and one thing only. It takes the currently selected gradient in your materials palette and it prints out the SVG and CSS3 text values to the Script Output Window.

Why would you want this? I don't know. With CSS3 you could design how you wanted your gradient to look inside PSP and then get the necessary code to re-create that in a website. But if you already know CSS3 then you probably could on your own anyway. And there are some pretty excellent online gradient editors that do the same thing and probably produce better code.....soo.....yeah.

LIMITATIONS: Currently the script will fail if you have gradients that have overlapping color/transparency stops. There is a Reds gradient that comes with PSP that has this problem. I will fix that eventually because I will need to.
