Does VideoStudio X10 (trial version) allow the importing of .vob files from DVDs?
I've tried, but the files on the DVD do not seem to be recognised. See attached.
I tried with MOVAVI Video Suite Converter on the same DVD and that worked just fine.
Thanks, Jim

Hi
It may be that the trial version will not import from DVD, certainly you cannot burn a DVD using the trial.
All versions of Video Studio
You cannot simply insert Vob files to the timeline but have to use Insert Digital Media
Right click the timeline for this option? If it is available.
Browse the hard drive for the Video_TS folder.
Some details on Insert Digital Media here, however you select Video TS folder.

Other options......
Copy the Vob files to your hard drive VTS_01_1 to VTS_01_5
Now rename the Vob files to use MPG file extension. (VTS_01_1.MPG)
Try importing these files to the timelines.
Works for some but not all discs.
As I say I do not know if these options are available using the trial.

Re: Importing video from DVD.
Thanks for the suggestions, Trevor.
Corel Customer Support tell me "I see that it is a trial version it can be a limited feature for the Trial version. I can suggest upgrading to the full version to try and test the program."
Hmm...I'm not sure what "it can be" is supposed to mean...surely it is or it isn't! Don't they know?
Oh well, I''ll stick with MOVAVI for now.

Hi Jim
How far do you get when you right click the timeline, you do not say? Is there an option to Insert Digital Media.
If that shows are you able to browse the hard drives for your CD / DVD Drive to locate the Video_TS folder?

What do you mean by "the .vob files are not displayed"? Please explain exactly, step-by-step, what you are doing.
Did you copy the Video_TS folder from the DVD to you hard drive and then rename the bob files to mpg and then add those mpg files to your project?

Thanks for your help. I have now uninstalled VideoStudio so I no longer require assistance.

Re: Importing video from DVD.
I needed to change the audio on some old videos from Dolby to LPCM. Downloaded from the DVD and re-rendered with the new audio format. It was a straight forward exercise and was carried out in both X9 and X10. I guess that some people are just not committed enough.
I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not so sure.
