Re: VideoStudio X9 and X10 crashes on Rendering
Hi
You do not need QuickTime Player, you should uninstall that.
But you may need the QuickTime Codec to play edit some mov types
There are a few YT videos describing the QuickTime issue, this may help..

@Ron P.
K-Lite Codec Pack I installed a few days ago, and the problem with VS started to occur almost a month ago. Installing k-lite did not change the situation at all.

Hi
In fact Corel recommends installing that pack ……….
Video files from a Digital Camera or Digital Camcorder will not import for editing in VideoStudio

Re: VideoStudio X9 and X10 crashes on Rendering
Hi a_noob
What are the properties of your MP4 video file?
Please right click a clip on the timeline or library and choose properties, what are they?
If you start a new project, add one of your files do you get a message to match the project properties.
If no – do you have Show Messages ticked in (F6) Preferences - General Tab.
Go to Settings - Project Properties, what are they? Are they the same as your video files properties.?

Re: VideoStudio X9 and X10 crashes on Rendering
The project parameters are always set to the same as in the input files. However, I rendered in other settings and it was always good. When problems started I tried to render also on project/input files settings and nothing, it only helped to reduce the resolution, or change the codec to mpeg2.

What does "nothing" mean? Does VS crash or hang or what?
What are the properties of the MP4 file - use MediaInfo in tree view to find out?!

please try to answer these questions
1 / What are the properties of your MP4 video file?
2 / Please right click a clip on the timeline or library and choose properties, what are they?
3 / If you start a new project, add one of your files do you get a message to match the project properties.

Re: VideoStudio X9 and X10 crashes on Rendering
@MrJohnny
"Nothing" it means still the same problem.
@lata
Input files:
H.264 Baseline Profile Video
24 bits, 1920 x 1080 , 25fps
Frame-based
23999 Kbps
After adding first file I get a message to match the project properties and click OK, then project properties - file properties they are the same.
On April 11th I edited the video in these settings, but I rendered using the following settings:
H.264 High Profile Video
24 bits, 1920 x 1080 , 25fps
Frame-based
15000 Kbps
The operation was a success. After a few days I finished another project using other files but it was recorded with this same device and with the same parameters and already during the editing problems started. Since then rendering always ends up crash, the first project also.

Hi a_noob
"Input files:

A project/input files with these properties previously rendered out to a file with the same properties - yes? But, now VS crashes?
Do you know if the OS has updated between the successful render and now? If yes, do you have a system image before the updates to roll back to? Then try rendering again.

Hi John
Yes, yes and I know
I have disabled updates and have not updated Windows for half a year. After the problems with VS I upgraded the system and there was no improvement, then I removed the updates.

Re: VideoStudio X9 and X10 crashes on Rendering
Hi a_noob
Thanks for the clarification.
Something has changed between the successful render(s) and the crashes!
Either -
1 The OS has changed
or
2 The programme has changed
or
3 The graphics card driver has changed.
Or a combination of same.
Can't think of any other pertinent element that could change.
You have confirmed there has been no hardware change to your setup.
Long shot – try setting up a new Administrator Account, then open VS and render the offending project that now causes the crash.
You may have to uninstall VS 9 again, then re-install under the new account.

Re: VideoStudio X9 and X10 crashes on Rendering
Hi
To render, if you choose Same as Project or Same as First Clip instead of using this template, does that fail?
Do not use these.
H.264 High Profile Video
24 bits, 1920 x 1080 , 25fps
Frame-based
15000 Kbps
Use these settings
H.264 Baseline Profile Video
24 bits, 1920 x 1080 , 25fps
Frame-based
23999 Kbps"
You say you removed the updates, are you referring to Video Studio updates, if yes how did you do that.
Please go to Help – About, what version are you using?

Re: VideoStudio X9 and X10 crashes on Rendering
I apologize for my absence recently, time is killing me.
In the meantime, I continued to talk with Corel support. After zillion clean installs and dzillions of settings combinations, the project was rendered successfully. It helped to disable all hardware acceleration after clean install, which is weird because I tried it before and when problems started, hardware acceleration was also disabled...
So now it's good, and I hope it stays that way.
BIG thanks everybody for your help and once again I apologize for my silence.
regards
Arek

Re: VideoStudio X9 and X10 crashes on Rendering
Since Version X8 I am having issues with random crashing.
Now I am using X10 and the crashes are getting worse. Speacilly when I render more complex videos in 4K.
And it seams Corel doesn't solve this problem at all.
We buy Software from Corel for many years and the same problem is not solved at all.
What the hell are they doing??
Very disaponiting and frustrating.
This is intolerable in a company like COREL.
