VideoStudio X9 and X10 crashes on Rendering

Post by stelch »

Hi

When I try to Render with VideoStudio x9 and X10 it, after a while it crashes. When I disable the "Enable Smart Render" then it works OK.
This happens when I use it with my Windows 7 pro PC. When I used it with my laptop Windows 10 then its OK.
Any ideas?

Thank you for the reply.
Nevertheless even that I disabled the smart render, it crashes again now. I would also like to mention that this is happening after I replaced my hard drive with an SSD one.

Hi Stelios

I would suspect the content of your project that is the problem rather than your new SSD.

Does the crash occur at the same point on the timeline, at the same %.

Tell us what type of clips you are using and the types of edits / filters / transitions you have applied.

It crashes at random when its rendering, between 20-50%
But the PC now also reboots by itself even before I load VS.
I have a feeling that it has to do with the changeover to SSD.

Hi Stelios

OK you may be correct...

I had problems running SSD and Windows 10 the main culprit was the SDD which needs to use AHCI set via bios, although some google searches show how to do via registry??

Using IDE mode caused Windows to close whenever it felt like, switching to a black screen.

Hi

I have a similar problem, when ViedeoStudio rendering in mpeg4 and 1080p it crashes (in random %), but in mpeg2 the operation is successful.
Sometimes it crashes in edit mode during playback.
I tried to re-install VS (with VSX9_Cleanup too) and remove last windows update, but the situation is repeated.

Sorry for my english

Hi

Have you perhaps changed your hard drive C: to SSD? The problem of mine started when I replaced my drive to SSD. What you must do is after installing an SSD to change from IDE to AHCI mode in the BIOS.

Hi stelch, thanks for the reply!

No, I did not change anything and I did not update windows for a few months, and when VS crashed, I installed updates, and when it was not fixed I removed them.

There was a security issue when using QuickTime Player, many people uninstalled QT…

Do you have the QuickTime codec installed on your pc. :?:

This post has a link to a Youtube video that shows how to only install the Codec

Hi lala!

No, I do not have installed QuickTime Player, yesterday I installed K-Lite Codec Pack (I do not know if it has anything to do with VS) and it has not changed :(
All the files I use are mp4 and that is also the target file. When I rendered to m2t with mpeg2 everything was ok but the input files were still the same mp4.

Yes I have installed the codec itself without the player and it does not work.

Did you install the whole K-lite codec pack? If so that may be a problem. Try uninstalling the pack and see if there's any improvement.
