How to open the edit workspace with no image
Is there a way to open the X9 work space with out a sample image showing ?

Deselect it before moving from Manage to Edit. You can do this by holding ctrl + clicking on the image. Or clicking in a blank area of the thumbnail view
If PSP starts in Edit automatically and it loads an image automatically then you've got the image setup as part of the workspace. To deal with that you need to save a new workspace and make sure that "Include Open Images" is not selected when you save it. Then load that workspace in. PSP will no longer open automatically with those images open.
