Render 2.7k drone footage

Shooting Phantom 3 4k drone footage in 2.7k MPEG-4, on export I check the "same as first clip" because I want to render in 2.7k. Previously, when I exported to 1080p, only because there was no option, I had compression artifacts, smaller file size but poor quality. Hit the start button and I get "frame size 2704x1520 does not match". Tried the preferences and setting and it looks like my only options are 1080p or 4k. Am I missing something? Because I was getting such bad artifacts in my videos saved at 1080p I actually acquired a copy of Premiere Pro CS5 (2010) and tried the same work flow....saved at same properties as clip and video was excellent...but also file size was big. My workaround to the file size was, use HandBrake and it reduced it 2/3 and no loss of quality. I have noticed that the quality of the rendered video gets worse if I do anything more than just trim clips, ie...color correction, speed up clip. If I can would like to stick w/X9. Been using Video Studio since Ulead days. Premiere I have is old and clunky.

Only suggestion I have is to install the software that ca me with the drone. I hope this installs the codecs needed.

Thanks for the reply...however no software, except the controller app, comes with DJI Phantom Drones. Just wondering why there is no preset for 2.7k or 2k footage or the ability to enter a custom size, there are 10's of thousands of Phantom Drones with just a 2.7k camera. I have to believe someone with VideoStudio has had the same issue. Presets go from 1080p and 4k....nothing in between? My current work around will be shoot the footage in 1080p or 4k. I'm just trying to get that happy median between the two.

I agree these drones are popular, but some resolutions are not. Try asking in drone's forum.

can you upload 10 sec raw video for us to try?
I have my ways with VS....
** you know you can always go the XVID AVI way for any resolution also.

I realize videos with my DJI Phantom 3 4K and will try now to edit videos with VS9ultimate. I use this software for 10 years. Unfortunately, all kind of project are not read correctly: images are jerky and I do not find the correct settings to correct this issue. Clip reading is not so bad but could be better. I have a powerfull PC for game playing. I contacted the Corel help desk and they explain me that MPEG4 files may not be correctly read by VS9 and that the files have to be converted into other format ! Did you experience something similar ?

If clip playback is not so bad yet Project Playback suffers then you should use Smart Proxy, that option should improve project playback

You can activate Smart Proxy from Settings Smart Proxy – Enable, or Performance tab.

It is not sufficient to just tick that box……

Smart Proxy files will be created when inserting a new clip to the top timeline.
For existing clips, right click to choose “Create Smart Proxy Files”
Do this for all clips, Shift + Click will select adjacent clips.

Rendering the proxy files can take a long time, view progress via Settings Smart Proxy Queue Manager. Do not close Video Studio till proxies have been created.
A small icon will show on clips using Smart Proxy.
