Problems attaching music to slideshow
Help!! I recently purchased a new computer and when I loaded my Cd & DVD Pictureshow3 everything was fine until I tried to add my music. I have done everything the same as I was doing on my old computer but I can not even highlight the file or click on it. It tells me that the Advanced Audio Settings is not responding. The files are in MP3 and identical to the way I did it on my old computer. The only thing I was wondering is if the operating system may be affecting something...my old one was Windows ME and my new one is Windows XP. I can add the audio clips provided with the program but not my own. Please help, I have been working on this for weeks and there is no support # to call. The program is no use to me if I can not add my own music. Thanks!
try a clean reinstall
Reinstall your PictureShow with a clean reinstall. Try deleting first temporary folders, program files, registry entries, and installation information of PictureShow before installing it again. ^_^

try update
Have you checked the latest drivers for your sound card, drives firmware, and updated necessary updates from microsoft and other things to consider for update? Upgrading from one OS to another needs patches for compatibility. Also try updating latest patch for your PictureShow on Ulead's website. Try a clean uninstall first of your program before doing all necessary install. Hope this helps. ^_^

argh!
I hate it when some random bit like this makes a project fail!
Here's some things to suspect and try:
You have one or more programs trying to access the sound device at the same time, and one is getting the device. Check to see what programs are actually running. See if you have another music composition program running, for example.
Your sound device driver is corrupt or obsolete. Go to the sound device manufacturer's web site and get the latest drivers, and re-install.
Your sound device is just hosed in some way. If it's Plug-and-Play (and most new ones are), then here's what you can TRY as a last resort. Go to your Device Manager in Windows, and remove the device from your list of hardware devices. Shut down Windows, and then restart. When Windows restarts, it will re-detect your device and re-install it.
I'm no hardware or software guru; these are just things I've tried in the past to fix sound card-related problems.
