Re: importing MKV files issues
Two possibilities: Audio format not supported, or no audio in the file. If you use a program like Mediainfo, does it show there is audio in the file? Does the clip play in windows Media Player? Where does the .mkv file come from (what created it)? You may need to convert the mkv file to mp4 using a program like Format Factory.

Hi
Try changing the audio level from 100%
99% is sufficient, this does work for some troublesome video types.

Re: importing MKV files issues
It seems that the MKV files contains something unsupported by Corel VideoStudio.

Chris
You do not say what problems you are having?
It may be the source of the files and how they were created
Where did you get them from
MKV is just the wrapper containing the video data/ properties
Check the properties using Media Info, some of my MKV are Mpeg4 others AVC codec?
I have a few sample MKV files and they all open using VideoStudio, no problems.
Upload a sample to a sharing site, provide a share link on your post, we can try on our pc’s

Re: importing MKV files issues
Hi
I downloaded some MKV test files from Matroska
https://www.matroska.org/downloads/test_w1.html
The only one not to work with Video Studio was test 4, all others played video and audio.
If you download these samples maybe compare the settings, video and audio to the ones you are downloading.
A tweak on the download converter you are using may solve your audio problem

Re: importing MKV files issues
Hi
1 / I do not have a problem using the samples with any Project Property settings.
2 / Compare your video files properties with the test samples from Matroska to see if there is a difference.
Maybe a setting you can change.
Try downloading the files using different methods, a different download manager.
Does the person supplying the files have a similar problem with the originals?
Using a video converter may create a more editable format that VS can cope with.
Do you think the files may be copywrite protected? If so they may be encrypted to cause these problems.
Sorry but I am running out of ideas as to why you are having issues.
