Hi Can anyone help?
Is there a way in Corel X10 to "High Light" Video Clips in the Timeline and move them to one side so that I can add another clip in between?
This this possible?
Thanks
Rob

if you mean in the top video track then no - because you do not need to - just drag the new clip into the timeline over the place where two previous clips abut and everything to the right will automatically move right
if you mean in an overlay track then click on the first one you want to move and then hold down 'Shift' while you click on the last one - (standard Windows multi-select procedure) - hover over the selected block - click and slide - - will not work if you have enabled Ripple editing

I am sorry I do not understand - if you want to put a new clip in the second line then why can you not just click on the one that is there and slide it right far enough to put a new clip in - and I have no idea what you mean by "obvious pane"
perhaps someone else will understand your problem

Re: Dragging Video Clips To One Side in X10
I'm with Brian. Please explain your requirement more clearly.
If you use the top timeline, you can drag the clips in order and they will butt up to each other to create a continuous video. You can also insert clips by dragging them into the "joins" between existing clips, the clips on the right hand side of the insert will move to the right but give continuity.
You seem to be using only the overlay tracks which do allow placing of the clips in any position and do not automatically butt the second clip to the first.
Once you have split the audio you can move it to any position on the timeline. It is normal to synchronise the audio with its respective video.
I tend to compose my video on the first timeline and use the overlay tracks for inserts and effects. I normally use the audio tracks for voiceovers and music.

I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not so sure.

Hi
Clips on the top track always shuffle left, there are no gaps.
One reason to place the clip on the overlay track is to allow us to resize the frame, maybe creating a Picture in Picture effect.
Is that what you are trying to do. IF yes
Two options.
first place the clip (000011.mts) on the top track
1 / Right Click the clip and choose Customise Motion, you should get used to that panel, it is a very good tool. Ask if in doubt.
2 /Double click the clip to open the options panel
Choose the Attributes tab
Tick Distort Clip
The preview screen shows the yellow markers, drag the corner squares to resize, will keep in proportion, Similar to working with overlay clips.
Is that what you are trying to do.?
If no, can you explain a little further.
Thought!
3 / You can place a black colour clip from the graphics library on the top track to create the space, then place your clip on overlay track?
