How do you get VideoStudio to create a playable DVD?
I go through the process to create a DVD. No errors, but DVDs do not play in DVD players or computers. The only thing on the disc is VOB files. Obviously, I'm doing something wrong

Re: Creating a DVD
Hi
I do not think you are doing anything wrong..........
A standard DVD has Vob files saved within the Video_TS folder, that is normal.
Vob files are effectively Mpeg2 video files.
What type of discs are you burning, if RW types then not all players support those.
For the PC , do you have software installed to play DVD?
From Video Studio, if you choose to burn a Disc Image (Iso file) instead of burning a disc, saves the file to your pc,
you can play that file using VLC Media Player, the iso is an exact copy of files burnt to a disc.
That should play on your pc.
are you able to do that?

Re: Creating a DVD
Do you mean this literally -- that there is nothing else on the burnt disc apart from VOB files? If so, then you *do* have a problem since a DVD should also have BUP and IFO files in the VIDEO_TS folder.91lespaul wrote:The only thing on the disc is VOB files.
Did you first convert your project to DVD-compatible mpeg-2 before opening the burning module, or did you do your editing (in some other format) and jump to Share > DVD (in which case it would have been the project file which appeared in the burning module, and something might have gone wrong with the conversion to mpeg-2 which occurred as part of the burning process)?
