Hi guys. Could someone tell me the process for getting white borders at the top and bottom of videos, so I can add text? I know there are phone apps that do this easily, but I'm not sure of the best way to do this in VideoStudio. Below is an example of what I would want to do.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure if I have understood your needs - but is this what you are trying to do ??
Video in the top track - plain white colour block from the 'color' library in the next two overlay tracks - sized and moved to top and bottom as required - two title tracks with whatever text you want placed over the white borders

Thanks for the quick response Brian. What would be the best way to adjust my video size, so I don't crop out my head. Sorry for the simple questions.BrianCee wrote:Not sure if I have understood your needs - but is this what you are trying to do ??

Resizing and/or moving the video is very easy - - double click on the video in the timeline and the "Options" panel will open - it has two tabs, by default it opens with the 'Video' tab selected - but to the right - hidden in the gloom is an "Attributes" tab - select that and you will then see an option to "Distort clip" - click to tick the little box next to that and a series of yellow boxes will appear in the preview window - you can use these to resize the video by selecting them with your mouse and sliding , use only the corner boxes , the side ones will distort the video (linearly) also by hovering your mouse over the image (4 way arrow appears) left click and slide to move the image up/down - left/right
BUT No.1 - - be careful that you have selected the yellow boxes - not the little green dots on them - mouse icon shows small box not arrow moving them seriously distorts the video - if you do accidently move one the undo icon is the anti-clockwise arrow icon above the timeline under the preview screen
BUT No.2 - -- as the video was filmed to fill the screen you are always going to have to make a compromise when you cover part of the screen with the white borders - you could just slide your video down a little to reveal the top of your head - but you will then lose part of your hands - you could just make the image a bit smaller - but then you will have borders each side
to do what you want to do you should really go right back to the beginning and move yourself and the camera further apart so that your image is smaller within a full size video frame
do not be afraid to experiment - nothing you are doing will damage your originals - it is not 'real' - everything in VideoStudio is virtual - if you do something drastically wrong just close Videostudio - re-open and start again
