I've recently moved to Win 10 & I found that rather than just causing problems as with Win 7, MP4 files now simply refused to run. I managed a work around for DVDs by first converting the MP4 files to MPG files using WinFF. However, it was now getting very messy, so I decided to bite the bullet and upgrade to VS X10 Ultimate, which solved the MP4 problem.
I was pleasantly surprised by how much in common with X7 there was with X10, which will greatly reduce the learning curve. No doubt I will find other differences, but the first one is that some of the menus for creating DVDs that I often used in X7 were no longer available in X10. I've uninstalled X7 but I still have the installation DVD. My question is therefore, is it possible to copy the menus I want from the X7 DVD and paste them into the X10 program? Alternatively, is there a download source for these old menus?

The easiest way is to just copy menus from X7 into the same folders in the X10 folders - difficult since you have now removed X7 - I would consider re-installing X7 and then copying the files over
You can also download many more by downloading and installing the menu packs in the "Do More" section of the Corel Guide within VideoStudio
and last but by no means least you can make your own menus and save them for future use

it was made in an older version so the first bit is slightly different but once the Create disc window opens it is the same as X10

Re: Copying menus from VS X7 Pro
Thanks for the reply. I've reinstalled X7 in my virtual Win 7 PC but I'm rather at a loss as to what I should be copying. I've looked in \content\menu templates\ but the structure seems rather complicated, to be honest.

Re: Copying menus from VS X7 Pro
Hi
As far as I can tell the standard templates used in X7 are the same as used in X10
There are templates available from Corels Guide - Do-More
I have not checked those, I guess could be different.
If you can tell us which templates you are missing in X10 maybe we can help further.
Take a snapshot of the X7 gallery and indicate which menu template you need.?

Re: Copying menus from VS X7 Pro
Having now had a chance to compare the two versions side by it looks like I must hang my head in shame and agree that the menus do seem the same in both versions. It looks like memory and old age have collided again! Anyway, many thanks for those of you who replied.

Hi
Don’t forget that we can download an additional Menu pack from the Corel Guide, as Brians earlier reply.
One for DVD and the other for Avchd/Bluray.
