Yesterday I received my 35$ Chinese action cam.
Interesting little toy that can do few resolutions as well as time-lapse and 720 at 120fps.
I just took few shots outside to test it along the busy street.
The 720p 120fps is very interesting, VLC plays it at 30fps hence in slowmo.
And VS X9 ??? the same, I just put it on the timeline and it plays also in 30fps slowmo
I shoot for about 1 minute and it is about 5 min. here it's info

So is it good or bad ? isn't HFR is basically a slow-motion tool?
Is this a bug or a feature of the camera? maybe it's just tagging the clip?
Hows your action cam is doing?

Re: HFR first test
Have you gotten this video file to play in slow motion in any program like Windows Media Player, or other program? What are the project properties? I seemed to recall when I last used 60fps video files I needed to do something with the Project settings or the time remapping option for the video clip.

Re: HFR first test
As I wrote, VLC plays it at 30fps hence in slowmo as well as MP and LA that I recommended few months ago.
X9 also sees it as ordinary 30fps clip.
here you can see the settings and here such clip

Hi Asik
I have a Panasonic TZ70 that does high frame Rate recordings, but never bothered to check the video properties.
Question is if the video is recorded at 120 fps why does media Info show it as 30fps.
I’ll dig out the camera and give it a looking at.
Are you able to upload the sample for us to download.

Re: HFR first test
Trevor, the camera shoot at 120fps that's for sure, but the file is conforms at 30fps and X4 the shoot duration and mute. I think its a brilliant acquisition form, who needs real time 120fps?
all the info is in the mediainfo I pasted. I don't have any camera that can shoot 720 at 30fps to compare it's data.
My G12 does 720 at 24fps.

Re: HFR first test
Actually I don't think this is good. 60fps captured video I have has that in its properties. Play such a file and it plays normal speed at 60fps. No reason why 120fps file should only play in slow motion. Let me decide if I want to play in slow motion, AND how much to slow it down to.asik1 wrote:Trevor, the camera shoot at 120fps that's for sure, but the file is conforms at 30fps and X4 the shoot duration and mute. Re: HFR first test
I just found this morning that actually it can shoot also 720 90fps as regular clip with sound.
regarding the 120fps??? well I'm confused maybe it's just 90 as it's menu show or ~113 as my calculation shows.
But still I can select on the camera if to shoot to slowmo mute or true HFR with sound.
Nice toy.
