Hi to everyone, I have an old video captured with dc10 plus and studio 8 with mjpeg codec. Now I'm on a mac and I would like to edit it but this format is not rendered properly on a mac. I can play it with vlan, but I cannot edit it with Imovie. Mpeg Streamclip kinda open it but doesn't read correctly the fields and show one field in the upper half and green/noise in the other half.
Now I've installed both the dc10 plus and studio 8 on my old pc with windows XP and I'm trying to export the clips in something usable on a mac. Which is the best workflow to do it?
I've tried to export in avi dv from Studio, but iMovie still don't like it (video ok but no audio), so I have to transcode to Apple Prores before going into imovie. This is doable and work right but I would like to avoid this double conversion before edit it. And also I don't like much the compression applied in avi DV format.
Can I do something better? mpg export at high bitrate would look better then avi DV?
or (best option) is it possible to export from Studio 8 with a near lossless codec that will be usable in iMovie? I am looking at Avid free codecs but I have never used them. Don't know if they would work in Studio 8.
Any suggestion on the best workflow is highly welcome.

If you mean just "Studio 8" and not "Video Studio 8", then I suspect you are in the wrong forum. And indeed your reference to DC10 Plus leads me to the same conclusion since that was I believe a Pinnacle program, as was Studio 8.
While Corel now owns Pinnacle, this user to user web board, and the Video Studio forum on it, are for a completely different set of Corel programs. The Pinnacle forums are at http://forums.pinnaclesys.com/forums/242/ShowForum.aspx So you might have better luck posting there. A separate registration will be required as our forums have no interaction.
But of course if you do in fact have Video Studio 8, let us know, and we will try to provide an answer.

I don't think you need DC10 or anything re installed, you have MJPEG interlaced files, so convert them.
I dont have any such files in hand but you can try convert them with this converter
http://www.xmedia-recode.de/en/index.html
convert them to mp4 for Iphone and I guess your mac could chew them.

Thanks Ken for pointing me to the right forum. You're right, I'm talking about Pinnacle product.
