Hello to all,
Happy Friday or weekend (depending where you are)!
First of all, I apologize but I tried the search function but nothing comes up about this topic- if there’s a recent thread please point me in that direction-thanks! My daughter plays volleyball and I wanted to add the score and have it embedded in the pre-existing video that I have taken (see below samples-from other videographer’s).
I have tried countless hours in the internet trying to figure out how to add a scoreboard/score bug or text for score tracking similar to these videos:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j6Frj3lIQys
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=edyG6PCbatk&t=577s
The research and tutorials I had come across had no simple explanation. I’m desperate at this point, I even tried asking the owners of the above videos on how to do it but they have yet to respond (and I don’t expect they will)…
Please HELP me!
Tell me how I can do this?
Is this just an overlay clip/title clip? If so, what are the steps?
Is there a "feature" in VSX9 that can do this? (One videographer I spoke with recently said it is..and apparently easy to do)?
I could also use the VSX9 user guide if you tell me what I need to do or learn?

Looking forward to your input, expertise and guidance, thank you in advance!

Well the first one just looks like standard titles shrunk and positioned as required - the second is slightly more elaborate - maybe just small images in an overlay track with text on - updated at each score
nothing difficult there - unless your expecting the scoreboard to update automatically at each score
try a standard text title in the overlay track - select it and resize and position as required

@briancee, thank you sir for the quick reply!
I was hoping there would be a more easier way than creating a title every score change- like the first video. I'm liking the second video more. However, I don't really know how to create that box (outline) nor do I understand when you said "small images"? Any additional tip(s) is welcomed. Thanks!

Ah well if you were expecting the score to update automatically then you are very much out of luck - there is no editor I know that can do that
You do not have to create a new title at every new score - just create one title and save it and then just edit the numbers at each score and put them in the timeline
when you put images or videos in the overlay track you can make them any size at all - so by small images I simply mean to shrink the image you want to use to a small size so that it does not fill the whole screen and cover any action - you can use anything
if you just want a plain box then draw what you want in "Paint" or any graphic programme you may have and put it in an overlay track and size and place as required

Hi
Is this the type of effect you are trying to create.
I made two text boxes, first with existing score followed by new score, applied a Side -Wipe transition.
The additional text pairs are simply copies of the first with the text re-typed to show the score update.
Yes it has to be done manually

@briancee, thank you for the quick response and for the screenshot- that really helped a lot!
@lata/trevor, couldn't be thankful enough for the zip file, it was exactly what I needed to "plugin" the scores manually. This will help me in my next project!
You guys rock! Thanks again!
Best regards,
Limajor
PS.
Perhaps I can ask for advise on how to add an arrow to a moving subject (my daughter), for recruiting videos. ty

you can - and the quick answer is motion tracking - but can you please start a new topic to ask that
