For one reason or another I have been not been able to devote any time to editing since 2014 but happily now I can get back to it. I expected to pick up where I left off in the middle of a project using Pro x4 and immediately hit the 'Windows update issue'. I have tried all the fixes to no avail so have decided to bite the bullet and upgrade both my OS(from W7 to W10) and VideoStudio. My question is will I be able to use the edit projects I created in Pro x4 if I upgrade to VS Pro x9 or Pro x10 (or x10 Ulitimate for that matter - I'm not sure whether I need to go as far as Ultimate but will scour these boards to see what others think!)
Thanks.

Re: Using VSP's created in VS Pro x 4
Welcome to the forums,
Yes you should be able to without any problems. VS is backward compatible. The issue is with the opposite, say if you created a project in VS X9 or X10 and wanted to open it in X4, that would not be possible. VS does give you the option when creating a project to save it as an earlier version, but that only extends to the 2 more recent versions.

Thank you so much. That's quite a relief! I can go ahead and get myself up to date now.

Re: Using VSP's created in VS Pro x 4
The real answer is maybe as 100% successfully opening a VSP file created by an old version of VS with a newer version of VS depends on the filters used and if speed/timelapse were applied. It's for that reason that I keep old versions of VS installed. See:Reds9908 wrote:My question is will I be able to use the edit projects I created in Pro x4 if I upgrade to VS Pro x9 or Pro x10
