VS X10 keeps crashing when trying to share...

Post by SamoanOnion »

hey all, my VS keeps crashing when trying to go from EDIT to SHARE, it just stops working and closes, no error code, just get program stopped working. tried uninstall and reinstall and that didn't work either

It does seem like it is with larger files, the file I was editing was 500+ MB
Image

any ideas as to why this is happening???

You tell us what you've got, but you don't tell us what you are trying to render it to... The same format or something different? Have you applied any special filters to the project?

I might also mention that some versions of Video Studio have had difficulty with certain types of mp3 audio, especially if it had been encoded using the LAMEmp3 codec. Mind you, I suspect that might not be the problem here, depending what format of both video and audio you were intending to output to...

mine doesn't freeze, it just closes the program.

all I was doing is editing a mp4, applying no filters at all, basically just shortening the intro and cleaning up the ending. pretty much just clipping the file. then when I click the share tab, it just says program is not responding and closes.

Hi SamoanOnion

Apologies for my previous post, guess a senior moment, a little confused.

Do you have the Quicktime Codec installed on your pc?

There were some security issues in installing the Quicktime player, in particular the web player, but installing the Codec only should not be a problem.

Are you able to use a Video Converter to create another file that does not use MP3 audio? Maybe MPEG AAC Audio:

If you can upload a sample to a sharing site, DropBox, Google One Drive etc. then we can try to replicate the problem.

Hi

You can install the codec only by a manual install -- installing QuickTime Essentials only

I found a post showing images of the Qt installer
