I'm an intermediate user of Corel VideoStudio X10 Ultimate, and just recently bought the "Roxio Easy VHS to DVD 3 Plus" dongle (with software) in order to digitize a couple of my old VHS tapes. The Roxio software is pretty basic, and I thought I'd be able to capture directly in VS X10. However, on the Capture screen even though it detects the dongle as "Roxio Video Capture USB," I can't select it - it immediately falls back to my webcam.
I would greatly appreciate any advice on getting this working.

Re: Trying to import VHS using Roxio Easy VHS2DVD3+ dongle
I think you will find that though VS can recognise the Roxio, it does not contain the necessary driver(s) to make it work with VS. Unfortunately, this is quite common with capture devices like this. They are tweaked to work with the software they came with. So you would need to install that software (if you haven't already) and capture using that. Once captured, the video can then be opened in VS for editing.
I'm also going to move this thread to the Video Studio forum as it is directly relevant to it and you may get more answers there.
