Make sure your project properties match your video files properties.
If your video file uses 25 fps then your project properties should match 25fps.

Where do you see those readings.
Video studio uses hh:mm:ss:ff, the last ff being frames.
Other media may use ff as fractions of a second.

So 20 frames would be same as to 0.48 seconds at 25 fps.

It does seem unusual if the playback does indeed cut/removes the frames???
