How can I set PSPX9 to NOT put any files in my Documents folder?
Each time I run PSPX9 it creates a folder "Corel PaintShop Pro" in my Documents folder and puts lots of sub-folders and files in it. I have no problem having that folder on my hard drive but NOT in my Documents folder. It's easy to delete but it is then re-created next time I use PSP. How can I change its location permanently?
Thanks!
Peter

As far as I know, you can't. They have it hard-coded to always go to that location. You can change wher the "My Documents" folder is located, but it'll always go into that folder.

Re: Keep PSP Files Out Of Documents Folder
It is possible to redirect file and directory access on Windows machines, using the mklink.exe command in a command window as Administrator (the old DOS window).
This could put a "Corel Paintshop Pro" directory link (like a shortcut) in your documents folder instead of the folder itself, that points elsewhere, even to another drive.
This means you would have the link "corel paintshop pro" in your documents directory instead of the folder, but the directory tree and files themselves would be created elsewhere.
I use links to redirect quite a bit of traffic from my small solid state drive to my large hard disk data drive. Not only the traffic, but it makes backing up data from one drive so much easier.
Just for example, I use a link to redirect the PSP "Drive:\Users\YourName\AppData\Local\Corel PaintShop Pro\17.0"
folder from my small solid state drive to my large data drive, D: in my case. This moved the PSP cache, Manager image database, RAW database and thumbnails etc. to D:\bla\bla. (You keep the "cache" under "File Locations" where it is, the link causes Windows to redirect, not PSP).
Two articles that describe it:

I'm not a Windows technician, but if this sounds like what you want, holler if I can help.

Re: Keep PSP Files Out Of Documents Folder
For moving the Documents folder itself to a data drive I just use the location tab under the folder properties myself.
