Video studio x9 sticking!!!!!
I have video studio x9 with all the patches ( v- 19.6.0.1 ) and it has just started to do a strange thing when I try to slide the bar down within the video clip box. Whenever I go to scroll down to find my video clip it freezes and I cant do anything, leave it for a while and and I can move it down a bit again, then it freezes. import videos and it freezes basically I cant use it but it worked 2 days ago!!!! Help

I guess you are referring to the scroll bar down the right hand side of the library pane
does this happen with all libraries including FX , transitions etc - or is it only one of the video libraries
if it is one specific one what and how much is in that library
can you add a library and use that - does that 'stick'
can you scroll the library using the mouse - or is the problem only with the scroll bar
.....

Hi Brian, yes just seems to be the samples folder as I didn't create a new folder for any projects and all has gone into this folder. all other folders ( scoop and muserk ) are ok and I can scroll with the bar and mouse roller in them. Is there a way of cleaning the samples folder quicker as im dragging and dropping my videos in to a new folder but each time it freezes! I have also noticed that I have a lot of unlinked files which is due to my error of moving videos on to another drive .Any advice , Thanks

It rather sounds as though you have clogged your library panels up and Videostudio is not sure what to do about presenting your interface
first let me make it clear that the images showing in you library folders are NOT the actual clips - they are just links to the files on your hard drive - so deleting them will not destroy your originals
Either re-link or delete the thumbnails which are showing as un-linked - you cannot do anything with them as they are and Videostudio is struggling all the time to find them and tying up your precious time
if you know where the actual files are and expect to use them again then re-link - then you will be able to move the thumbnails to new libraries - otherwise3 just delete the thumnail
do not try to overload libraries it is not necessary - add libraries giving them meaningful names so that you know where to get them back from and spread your clips over them - - I always create a new library for each project - deleting the library when the project is finished - I also keep all files for a project in a unique windows folder - so I can always re-create the library should I need it
it is not essential to use the Videostudio libraries anyrate - they are supposed to be a convenience - but are not always - many people set up a system of Windows folders containing their clips and never put them in to a Videostudio library - when editing simply right click on the timeline - choose what to insert and use Windows to find it
As I said - your first step towards speeding up your selection is a massive library clean-up

The quickest way to cleanse the library is to do a library Reset
Go to Settings – Library Manager – Reset Library.
That will remove all personal folders returning the library to its first installed state.
There is an option to Export Library, that will create a copy of the library, but doing that with a corrupt library is probably a waste of time.
Like Brian I use the library as a temporary means to hold my clips for my on going projects.
All my files used in a project being saved to a single folder on my hard drive, Smart Packaging is a good way to do that.
