DID TEXT PRESETS IN PSP 9 SCREW UP MY TEXT TOOLS?

As everyone knows, when one prepares to create text via the Text Tool, one would see an empty space with a flashing icon. Well, I decided to see what the Text Presets were like. Upon finishing my review of this new tool, I decided to go back to using normal text. No such luck. Everything I typed from that moment forward used Text Presets. I was forced to change all the settings in the Text Dialogue boxes to get the text back to normal. I am certain the Text Presets are still activated though, since every time I prepare to use the text tool, the very last text I created always immediately pops onto the screen. No empty blinking cursor. just the same text over and over and over again. I cannot get things back to the empty space with the blinking cursor awaiting me to enter text. I have no doubt the Text Presets tool has destroyed my defaults within the Text environment. I should like to prevent the need to uninstall the software and reinstall again to get things back to normal. Surely someone has experienced the same, and has a fix for this, yes? I would certainly appreciate anyone to give me a heads-up regarding this. If there is no one forthcoming, I shall be forced to do a complete uninstall and re-install. The Text Presets are perhaps the worst thing Corel has ever come up with, since it has caused much damage to my PSP 9.

I'm not sure about the Text Presets since I don't use them. I can help you with the last text created continually popping up on the screen. There is an icon in the Text Toolbar that turns that on & off - see the snip I did.

Just tested and used the Army preset. Typed some text on a transparent document and then deleted that document.
This left my Text tool with the settings for the Army preset active.

1. Opened a new transparent document
2. Selected text tool and then the presets as if I was going to use another preset. To the right second button down click that (Reset to Default), this will clear most text settings to a default set.
3. However the Army preset uses a texture so you have to double click the Background and Fill Properties box, select Texture tab and untick Add Texture. You can now select a new color, pattern or other texture.
