Hi
CVSX10 crashes when using trim handles to remove end frames, 80% of times.
I can trim using the Mark-In Mark-Out F3 – F4 options without problems, but dragging the trim handles crashes the program.
Project contains my MTS video clips recorded using Panasonic 900 series camera, these have not given any problems in the past.
It does appear that Ripple Editing seems to be the culprit?
I have applied Ripple Editing to keep some text clips in line.
Sometimes we receive a message that other clips may be affected because of ripple editing,
I think the program is crashing rather than providing that message.
Don’t really know?
Must remember to hit the brackets rather than dragging trim handles.

Re: CVSX10 crash when trimming clip
Similar issue here. VSX10 Ultimate randomly crashes with Event Viewer "Heroglyph40RouteRender.dll" as the faulting module. However, that dll is not part of X10, it is part of X7 and X8. It seems in my case to be related to having a few RotoPen instances in a project. Totally inconsistent in terms of activity or position in the project.
As a possibly related aside, the X10 installer failed but claimed success immediately after acknowledging the failure window. That was 4 weeks ago and I don't recall the actual message. However, the program seems to run fine as long as no RotoPen FX's are in the project.

Does it happen with X9? Can't reproduce in X9.

Re: CVSX10 crash when trimming clip
Hi Al
Yes I reverted to X9 this afternoon and had similar crashes, I am sure it worked ok in the past, maybe X9 latest service pack?
I am able to trim the clips provided I do not drag the trim handles.

Re: CVSX10 crash when trimming clip
I just set up a quick project with clips in main timeline, one overlay track and title track, and applied Ripple Editing locks. The clips I used with high def 1920 x 1080 mp4 rather than .mts... But I had no trouble using the trim handles on the clip in the main timeline, nor that in the overlay track. I tried several times, adjusting the trim handles both inwards and outwards but everything continued to work.
Anyway, I then started a new project and found some 1920 x 1080 .mts clips which I inserted in the main timeline and overlay track, and inserted another preset title in the Title track. Again applied Ripple Editing. And again had no trouble using the trim handles on the clips in the timeline and in the overlay track.
Using X10 version X10.0.0.137 x64.

Re: CVSX10 crash when trimming clip
Did similar to Ken, but with MTS files from a Sony HDR CX730E camera and my VS x9 (19.6.0.1) crashed; just as lata said.
Highlighted the last clip on the main Video Track 1, tried to pull the end grab handle beneath the preview window display and the program crashed. This happens whether there is a ripple edit lock on/off with/without a Title on a Title Track.
In other words with only two MTS clips on Video Track 1, highlight the last clip, pull the end grab handle beneath the preview window in towards the Left Hand (start of clip) and crash.
If the end clip is highlighted and in the timeline the end point is pull towards the Left Hand (start of clip) all works as it should. It can be pulled back to its original length as it should.

Re: CVSX10 crash when trimming clip
Hi guys
Thanks for the tests
And thanks John for confirming I am not going mad, but like all problems works for some and ok for others.
I have passed details of this post to Corel Support, I know there is a problem using MYDVD with MTS type video, maybe associated in some way????????

Re: CVSX10 crash when trimming clip
Hi lata
Correction to previous post - I can reproduce the crash as detailed BUT the Title needs to be there with Ripple Edit lock on that track; trim the track some frames then adjust a few frames back the other way, the crash happens. If Ripple Edit is off, there is NO crash, my bad.
The MTS files are 25fps, can also replicate the crash with NTSC frame rate (29.97fps) file.

Re: CVSX10 crash when trimming clip
Using this file format
following the same procedure, VSX10 did crash, however it wasn't until I had Ripple Editing applied, used a couple stock titles from the Library in the title track.MPEG-4 Files
24 bits, 1920 x 1080, 29.97 fps
Frame-based
H.264 High Profile Video: 3140 Kbps
44100 Hz, 16 Bit, Stereo
MPEG AAC Audio: 126 Kbps
