Hi guys hope everyone is ok.
I have a video of a model steam locomotive and I want to add the effect of smoke coming out of its chimney as it moves along.
I can see how to use 'track motion' but this seems to add just a placeholder for text.
My question then is how do I use track motion and add something that looks like moving smoke coming out of the chimney and being pushed backwards slightly by the wind?
The other thing, they seem to be pushing the upgrade to Studio 10 just now. Is it worth it or not?
Thanks
Adding smoke effect tracked and is studio 10 worthwhile?

Hi,
No you can't do so (at least not as you see in "the movies") .
Unless you will animate your smoke as 3D animation in sync with the speed/prespective of the train than you can overlay that over your train clip.
X10 is no better in that aspect than X7

OK thanks, I saw a video that did it, said he used 'particle system and motion tracker'
Looked good.
So X10 is no real big upgrade over X8?

Big no, minor yes. It depends on your type of work and needs.MikesMovies wrote:OK thanks, I saw a video that did it, said he used 'particle system and motion tracker'
