hello, can i edit a movie using two different cameras formats, like a sony xc900 format xvac s, and 4 k on another sony camera?
will the two be able to edit and render and then be saved on a blue ray disk? and still have the 4k look?
just wondering because i will be shooting film from both camera and would like to be able to edit with both formats.
thanks

Re: Using different formats for Blu-Ray
I have split your second post in this thread to a thread of its own as it was completely unrelated to this one.

Re: Using different formats for Blu-Ray
You can certainly mix and edit those formats and render them to a new 4K file. However, X10 cannot render a 4K Blu-Ray disc even though 4K is now part of the international Blu-Ray standard. I don't have any idea when Corel will include this in Video Studio, but it almost undoubtedly be in any patch for X10.
If you render a new 4K video from your project, you will be able to play it from a USB stick or external hard drive connected to a (4K?) HDTV. However, if you want to burn it to a Blu-Ray disc using Video Studio, it will be downconverted to HD format (1920 x 1080). The quality should be excellent, but it will not be 4K.
There are undoubtedly programs out there which can burn 4K Blu-Rays but unfortunately, I have no idea at the moment which ones they might be. I have checked both the latest Nero Platinum 2017 and Ashampoo Burning Studio 18, and they don't accept 4K video. And since the current version of the freeware ImgBurn was released in 2013, I suspect it won't either.

Re: Using different formats for Blu-Ray
thanks for your help and your answer for the editing part was helpful, but i just purchased the blue ray burning plug in for video studio for $7.99, i thought that would do the job. am i confusing that with something else? thanks Joyce

Re: Using different formats for Blu-Ray
As I said above, the Blu-Ray module you bought will certainly produce a Blu-Ray disc, but it will be high definition (1920 x 1080) and not 4K.
