I finished a new project in my X9.5 ultimate version and when I went to burn it I get an error response stating: No burner exists
I have done diagnostics on the burner, drivers are the latest I even restored the computer back to two days earlier before I installed the lastest update for videostudio (since a pop-up suggested I update the last time I closed out of it). It recognizes everything about the drive (showing how much space is on disk, etc) and even momentarily starts the burn then jumps to the error code [516:0:0] No burner exists.
Any ideas why it is suddenly doing this. Do I need to uninstall some random windows update again like last year??????
Thanks for any help you can give me.
Jana

Re: Error code: No burner exists
Sorry for the delayed response. Are you still having this problem? If so then let's see if this may help. If not, then ignore this.
I'm not sure what that error code is really saying. By your post VS does recognize your burner, so by that the error is in error if you know what I mean. So anyway, here's some suggestions to see if it helps you get past that.
1. You didn't say if you went directly into the burn module from the project (Share>Create Disc). If so try rendering your project first, to the correct file format, DVD Compliant MPEG-2. Once you've rendered your project, save it. Then choose File>New Project or Press CTL+N, this is merely to clear the timeline. From there go to Share>Create Disc to open the Burn Module. In the Burn Module you will insert the video file you created from your project, proceed on with the building the menu(s) ect, to the Burn step, to see if you can now burn your disc.
2 What you also might do instead of burning a disc, is to create DVD Folders. That way if something happens you're not creating coasters instead of DVD video discs. If this is successful, you can then create the disc, by burning, (copy/pasting) those folders and files onto a DVD.
3. Have you tried using a different DVD Disc? Perhaps there's some defect with the blank, and VS is throwing the error because of it.

Re: Error code: No burner exists
Do you have any other disc burning software installed?
I've read other messages that say that a "quick burn" type of program (where your drive is "tricked" into acting like a hard drive so you can simply copy files to the drive and the quick burn program will write them to disc) can cause communication problems with other programs being "locked out" of taking control of the burner
