I Have an old Panasonic PV-GS65 stored away fo years.
Decided to get the video onto my PC (Win 10 - I7 CPU - 16 Gig Ram - ATI firepro V).
I purchased a Firewire card, came with cable & Ulead VS11 SE.
Under Device manager the camera is recognized - 'imaging device'- 'Panasonic DV Camcorder'.
When I turn the camera on in playback mode VS11 automatically starts up.
I go to 'capture video' - everything is grayed out except the capture folder.
Under Tools I pick 'VideoStudio Movie Wizard' - 'Capture' - the camera makes a noise like tape aligning then -'Capture Module Init Failed' - "Either no video capture driver is installed in this system or no device is connected".
I try 'Tools' I pick - change capture plug-in - nothing happens (No windows open).
Been searching online - found similar problems but no solution.
Any Suggestions ? Is there a 'video capture driver' (name) I could try/Install?
Cannot capture vid from Camcorder to VS11

Thanks for the fast response.
I went to MS and downloaded the Legacy Drivers for firewire IEEE.
Installed it. But there was no change.

Re: Cannot capture vid from Camcorder to VS11
Hi
I never owned VS 11, but if my memory serves me there were some capture issues with the programs, not sure if that was analogue capture, anyway it may be a compatibility issue with windows 10?
There is a free program called WinDV as far as I know should work with Windows 10

Can you try that program
It should capture to DV.Avi files, you can then import the captured files to Video Studio.
