I am using VideoStudio Pro X4 which I have used successfully for several years. I have been trying to capture video from my Sanyo camcorder but with strange results. after an hour or more of capturing I end up with four audio files and one video file (uvs170307-001.mpg) but no actual video appears and there doesn't seem to be anyway of seeing the movie. I have attached a file describing the video details. Note also that I specified PAL but the video is in NTSC format. Corel Support can't help me because hey no longer support this version af VideoStudio Pro. In the past I haven't encountered this difficult.
ALSO: I have been experiencing difficulty in opening the program. Although I have uninstalled and re-installed it several times I get the error "Corel has encountered an unspecified error and will close". Although I successfully installed it this morning and captured video as per the above, the next time i tried to open it I got the above mentioned error message. Should I abandon VideoStudio Pro X4?

Re: Capture from camcorder does not work
Hi
What type of Sanyo camcorder?
You mention capturing over an hour, so I assume a tape based cam, maybe Mini-DV
Can you give details
Also --- how are you connecting the can to pc, if it is MiniDV you should be using Firewire IEEE Connection?

Re: Capture from camcorder does not work
I am using Windows 8. I haven't done an operating system update recently, though a considerable time has elapsed between its working and not working. My Sanyo camcorder is ac Xacti AVC/H264. I connect the camera to the computer via USB. The camera is neither tape based nor miniDVD, rather it uses a 16gb memory card.

Re: Capture from camcorder does not work
You should not require to capture from the memory card. Simply use Windows Explorer and copy the video files from the memory card to your hard drive.kafka wrote:I am using Windows 8. I am assuming that Windows Explorer sees the memory card as an external device.
