Moving a watermark

Post by Stu63 »

Hello,
This is the first post for me here in this form and I truly hope I'm not wasting anyone's time. Ive created and added a watermark to my photos but it doesn't seem to give me the option to move it after it's inserted, I'd like to be able t move it more to the right corner because the auto placement isn't where I'd like it to be.

Thank you in advance for your time :)

I never use Watermark and have no knowledge on how to move it (tried but couldn't), but there are other ways to make a watermark if the Image>Watermark doesn't work for you :-)
New Image, big enough to take your name, transparent background.
Text tool, write your name or whatever you want to use as a watermark.
Merge Visible.
Save as a .PSPImage file.

Open your photo, add the newly made name, hit K for the Pick Tool, move the name to where you want it.
Set the Layer Blend mode to Soft Light.
Or experiment with other Layer Blend Modes.
This way you have control instead of the program.

In case you are wondering why my Layers Palette looks different from yours (if it does).. I have enabled the Right Pane in General Preferences>Preferences>Palettes :-)

I just tested in X7 and was wondering if you put a new transparent layer above your image and applied the watermark there , then you should be able to move it. But NO!! Corel in their wisdom does an auto merge before applying the watermark. So you cannot bypass it that way.

Another way is to prepare your watermark image and convert it to a picture tube and then apply that to a new layer and you can move it where you want.

Do you mean move or remove. These are two different procedures?

Thank you all for your help. Instead of using the built in watermark creator i've used the method Joelle suggested and can place it where I want it. Thank you again!! :D
