I'd like to add 1280x960 video clips from a GoPro Hero3+ to a 1920x1080 project. The question is how to best to it.
I thought that I could just add the 1280x960 video clips to the main video track and set the resampling option to "keep aspect ratio". However the problem is that the 1280x960 clips are stretched vertically to 1080 instead of remaining at 960 (see image on left below).
The only way that I can see to keep the 1280x960 video clips from being stretched is to add them to the overlay track and then manually adjust the size (see image on right above). However, this makes add clips difficult. Is there a better way?
How to add 1280x960 to 1920x1080 Project?

Re: How to add 1280x960 to 1920x1080 Project?
The problem is that for Video Studio 1280 x 960 is not a standard frame size: see for example a discussion of this in http://forum.corel.com/EN/viewtopic.php ... 21#p303121
The only thing I can think of in addition to that discussion would be to try ticking the box in Preferences > Edit beside "Us Fit-to-Screen as default size in Overlay track" before you start inserting those clips in a new project. However, I don't have any 1280 x 960 video to try this out myself to see if it keeps the original aspect ration or again stretches the video, probably sideways, to fill the screen. However it might be worth trying.
You might also note my suggestion further down in that linked thread to using GoPro's own Studio software -- though this would depend on what you are planning to do with your edited video. If you want to make a Blu-Ray disc or DVD, then again you will have problems as the international standards for both types of discs do not include 1280 x 960 frame sizes. Any video with that size would be re-rendered as either 1920 x 1080 or (more likely) 1280 x 720 and there could either be stretching or possibly parts of the top and bottom of each frame cut off.
