X9 Smart Photo Fix Crashes CONSTANTLY....
This is driving me nuts. I had no issues with X8 and use it every day but now with X9 the Smart Photo Fix crashes about every 4 or 5 photos. Ive checked for updates and nothing.
Specs on my PC should be able to handle the load. Any ideal what the issue is?

Re: X9 Smart Photo Fix Crashes CONSTANTLY....
Just out of interest, does it do it if you use the 32-bit version?

So your suggesting uninstalling the 64 and installing the 32 on a 64 machine and see what happens.

Just got this error when I tried to resize. It says the current layer has no data but its a single layer. It has smart photo fix all over it so I figured it may be relevent.

You can install both the 32-bit and 64-bit at the same time. It's one of the installation options. You're not limited to installing only one or the other.
How large are these images you're working with? Is it every 4 or 5 images in a row? Does restarting the application before the 4th or 5th image stop the crashing? Have you tried resetting the workspace to factory defaults?
Do you always use the smart photo fix preset? I'm assuming you're using the Instant Effects palette. Does it do this if you use the smart photo fix command from the menu?

Re: X9 Smart Photo Fix Crashes CONSTANTLY....
Images are small at about 1600 x 1100 px.
Restarting the doesn't change anything. Still crashes every 4 or 5 images.
Happens with both a default workspace and a slightly modded one adding History and Instant effects.
Happens from the menu.
I just tested it again and opened and closed the same image in Smart Photo Fix from the menu. After opening and closing the same image 4 times the 5th time it crashed and the application closed. Ive included a screen grab. You can see the before image is fine its having trouble processing the script for the After image preview. After a few seconds it just crashes.

Re: X9 Smart Photo Fix Crashes CONSTANTLY....
Very specifically, did you try to reset the workspace to factory defaults? This isn't about whether or not you have palettes or the workspace is different from what's there by default it's about potentially fixing hidden unknown issues. If the workspace gets corrupted, small values will be out of place screwing everything else up. A factory reset of the workspace will usually clear that up. This is, of course, no guarantee that that's your problem. But doing the factory reset gets that out of the way.
Have you done the factory reset? If not can you close PSP, then hold the SHIFT key while opening it. It'll ask if you want to reset to factory default. Say yes. Then report back on the issue.
It's entirely possible that you'll just have to bring this up with Corel support. We are, after all, just users like you offering the default answers we get all the time. If it's something more specific to your computer it'll require better troubleshooting than we can offer as we don't work for Corel.
With an image matching your size, and with images double the size, I cannot get PSP to crash using the Smart Photo Fix no matter how many times I use it. Both 32-bit and 64-bit. Using Instant Effects or using the command. Suggesting it's not a common or normal problem.

Re: X9 Smart Photo Fix Crashes CONSTANTLY....
Completely rest it and even used one of the default images that came with it and it crashed the 1st time I tried to use Smart Photo Fix.
Corel support it is I guess. Thanks for your time. If they offer some kind of solution Ill try and post it here in case someone else has this issue.

Re: X9 Smart Photo Fix Crashes CONSTANTLY....
Hello,
Also please share below information for reference.
- Is your PSP version 19.1.0.29?
- When you invoke "Smart Photo Fix", is there any adjustment you did before clicking "OK" button?
- Would you mind to attach one of the images you used for testing? If you cannot provide that, can you confirm if all images you had can duplicate the crash issue? What kind of image format?
- If you don't mind, can you try "Smart Photo Fix" function in Adjust mode and see if it will get crashes?

Re: X9 Smart Photo Fix Crashes CONSTANTLY....
PSP version 19.1.0.29 64bit
Smart Photo Fix crashes with I make changes or not. The crash happens as soon as the image loads.
2 Screen grabs above of the actual images. The flower is a default image that comes with PSP.
I havent tried the Smart Photo Fix in Adjust mode yet.
Ok so I contacted Corel customer support and they opened a ticket. Never heard back from them and its been 3 days.
So Im uninstalling/reinstalling to see if it fixes the issue. Ill post back the results.
