I have PSP 64 X8 and Win 10 Pro. There is a consistent sporadic problem when I try to save or re-save a PSPImage file; I get the error "unable to create file". So far there is no solution. I've searched Google and found that others have experienced the error but there is no solution.
Months ago I had a long chat with support but there was no solution other than re-install. I finally got around to carefully do a re-install and the problem still exists.
Has anyone really found the cause of this problem or a fix for it?

I never understand why Tech Support suggest a re-install.DPCreations wrote:I have PSP 64 X8 and Win 10 Pro. You could reset PSP to it's default state, it has got me out of trouble a few times
If you have customized your workspace at all, then save it (right-click in the Workspace>Workspace>Save) before you do the following:
Close PSP.
Open PSP and hold the Shift key at the same time. You should see a message appear, telling you that PSP is returning to it's default settings. Click OK.
PSP will load.
If you have changed some settings in File>Preferences>General Program Preferences, you will need to re-do those.
Also File>Preferences>File Locations, for your plugins.

Only pspimage files, but not all the time. When I fails I can save to PSD. Sometimes it will then allow me to save as PSPImage and other times the error persist. Other times the file saves with no error.Jean-Luc wrote:A specific pspimage file or ALL pspimage files ?

Re: PaintShop Pro X8 "Unable to Create File"
The open reset is much easier than re-install, but it didn't fix the problem. The first time or so I save the PSImage file, either save or save as it seems to be ok, then later the error. I it only occurs where there are text objects as part of the file. I doesn't happen for a simple photo image where I make color and technical adjustments with no added objects.Joelle wrote:I never understand why Tech Support suggest a re-install.DPCreations wrote:I have PSP 64 X8 and Win 10 Pro. Do you save in a specific compatibility for example pspimage compatible X4-X7? With or without compression ?DPCreations wrote: Only pspimage files, but not all the time. Re: PaintShop Pro X8 "Unable to Create File"
Actually, I didn't realize there were such options. I did check one PSPImage file with a "save as" and it showed up a uncompressed and X8 compatibility. I'll have to check options next time I do some editing and get the error.Jean-Luc wrote:Do you save in a specific compatibility for example pspimage compatible X4-X7?
