For "Pan and Zoom" I would like to have transparency as a 3rd option for background color.

Pan and Zoom are quite simple to achieve, we have several options depending whether using Images or Video, there is also a few FX filters that will do the job
But far the best is the Customise Motion, right click your clip for options / settings.
Now you can have a transparent background
Post to the Video Studio main forum if you nee advice using Customise Motion

Hi..
I guess Corel relies on this Forum and user sources to do the job of providing a comprehensive operation manual.

I wish for a well-written, comprehensive manual; but there never has been a computer-related guide that focuses sufficiently on the 'how', instead of the 'what'. And since logic has become politically incorrect in our "education system," the probability of ever seeing a useful manual, I estimate, is < 0.0000001.

VS is a creative software, great deal of creativity is to explore. Unfortunately many VS users do not explore it beyond the tip of their nose.

Re: Wishlist for VS X11
I for one am guilty of ignoring manuals that do offer helpful info...sometimes. But it is easy to give up on them after enduring the frustratiion of reading about what a program can do, without getting adequate info on how to perform the task.
If software developers tested their manuals by having a newbie follow their steps, the miracle might occur. Until then....

This isn't the task of a manual, it's the task of tutorials, and for that we have the angels who devote their time on youtube and on courses.Djard007 wrote:I for one am guilty of ignoring manuals that do offer helpful info...sometimes. Re: Wishlist for VS X11
I, for one, agree with Djard007. The PDF manuals only touch on what the programme can do and do not discuss much of the detail. There were books covering VS but my last copy was for X5.asik1 wrote:This isn't the task of a manual, it's the task of tutorials, and for that we have the angels who devote their time on youtube and on courses.Djard007 wrote:I for one am guilty of ignoring manuals that do offer helpful info...sometimes. The tutorials are excellent especially the ones from Gripps but, ask yourself, if we had a proper comprehensive Manual, would we need the tutorials or even this forum?
I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not so sure.

A cleaner and more professional-looking interface, such as Pinnacle Studio 21 above, would be great. Incidentally, it arrives strange the enormous performance difference between Pinnacle Studio (extremely slow) and Corel VideoStudio Pro on computers with AMD processor.

I have both on the system listed to the right, and don't notice a difference except in immediate 4K timeline playback. No proxies needed with Pinnacle for "me".eduguedes wrote:A cleaner and more professional-looking interface, such as Pinnacle Studio 21 above, would be great. As for manuals, most people don't bother to read them and depend on the forum to get the answers. Gripps and Paul Holtz tutorials are good to get you up and running. Still, you have to put your time into actually learning how the software works and how to use it.

Re: Wishlist for VS X11
With reference to a manual that can be followed.
AS a one time QA systems manager. I used to find that creating a procedure that could be followed could be achieved with a flowchart (or top level flowchart, from which a procedure can be defined). It certainly could become a great overview/starting point covering various options. I do understand that some people get switched off by flowcharts, however, once you understand that at every point in a flow chart, you can only go ONE way from any point, no matter how many out-puts there are, they become easy to follow, provided the author is also sufficiently conversant for flowchart protocol.
While it may not be able to put full details in a flowchart container, a ref, or link can be made to extra detail accordingly.
In creating flowcharts there has to be an opening point, or possibly multiple opening points. Again there must be a closing point, or multiple closing points, if there are areas where there are no closing points (task done, or even task aborted) the flowchart is incomplete and relatively useless. EG, suppose there is an option at a certain point to left-click or to right-click, and there is a next stage in the flowchart as to what happens as a result of left-clicking, but for right-clicking the flow leads nowhere, or that the right-click possibility has not been addressed at all, then there has been a failure, the procedure is incomplete.
Just a thought.

Why don't you create such a chart and supply to the Forum as a pdf. file?

I make many subtitle using videostudio. However, it is quite limited on the language that it can display. I hope it can support language with special character in future release.
