Re: Wishlist for VS X11
Perhaps it would be better to have a method to install 'selected' templates, graphics, fonts and titles?
In the same respect, have a method to remove unwanted modules at a later date.
I've been using tidal prediction software. It has information for the whole planet, but it is grouped into different regions. The default is to install all areas, but you can go into the settings at any time and remove unwanted regions or have them installed again at a later date. This method could make things a little easier if implemented.
As for knowing what each template can do, that is going to be difficult to answer in many cases without you actually running them. A simple icon is rarely going to be adequate.

Re: Wishlist for VS X11
It has always been possible to install any templates downloaded via the Get More Content tab, from earlier versions into the latest version, when you click on the Instant Project button, the program will ask if you want to import templates from previous versions, not sure what the exact terminology the program uses, select Yes and all templates will be imported

A quick selection tool, like the one in Adobe Photoshop, would improve masking greatly. As it is now, it is difficult to use in most cases. This should not be difficult to do.

Re: Wishlist for VS X11; Pan & Zoom default at 100%
Pan & Zoom on photos is a great way to have still pictures "in movement" throughout a project including videos and makes a huge difference versus static slideshows.
I get a lot of comments from my "audience" on the impact it has. I almost use it now on all photos. Usually the pan has to start (or end) at full picture (100% and centered).
VS default start key frame is 116% and offset. It would be great to be able to specify a user-defined default key frame to start (and/or end) the pan & zoom and therefore avoid numerous keying or modification of the % or position for each photo (even if I know that I can and currently do copy/paste attributes to bypass that limitation, but still have to repeat often replacing 116% by 100% and re-center the panning)

Why don't you just set a favorite P/Z that you like and use that as your defaultbrouillette wrote:Pan & Zoom on photos is a great way to have still pictures "in movement" throughout a project including videos and makes a huge difference versus static slideshows.

It would be nice upon launch of a video for the software to:
1) automatically track mouse, and change how the mouse is displayed.
2) to allow audio recording to continue even if you click your mouse outside of the application. This is nice as being able to play the video in a larger window, outside of the application and as soon as you click outside for VS your recording stops.
3) To allow you to pause your audio recording and resume

Re: Wishlist for VS X11
Thanks Asik1 for posting a reply !
Is there a way to create a Favorite or Preset for a "Pan & Zoom" or do you mean use copy & "paste all attributes" as I currently do once I have set one P/Z at 100% + centered for the start key frame ?
The only issue , I guess, with repeating "paste all attributes" for that purpose is that it cannot be redone solely for the P/Z only (unless I have missed something in the "paste optional attributes" that I tested for that) , or it has to be redone each time you go from one VSP to another (as we cannot open two VSP windows in parallel) or repeated at times within the same VSP if the P/Z is modified.

With the video version it's EZ PZ .
Deeper investigation is needed. (this looks as should be fixed way back in X7)
or maybe X11 will rescue

Re: Wishlist for VS X11
One practical way to do it would be to take a 'placeholder' image, apply the effects as required, then save the results as a template.
You could then add the 'template' or single image and drag the correct photo into the placeholder.
Taking into account frame sizes and ratios and how this will affect the results, you may want to create a placeholder image of the same proportions as one of your photos.

4k is still in its infancy, not everyone has 4k TV, 4K players, 4k cameras, etc. If you shoot 4k and want to distribute, it had better be converted to Blu_Ray or old DVD as your viewing audience would be very limited. However, with the advent of steaming TV, 4k will grow as this becomes the mode of operation replacing discs and old TV's are replaced with new 4k ones. I still like to have my disc copies and play them on my old TV. Of course, if the smartphone appeals to you, then it's mp4 now.

Re: Wishlist for VS X11
@pepegota: Personally I've played with much of the "old" content and have spent some time deconstructing it and rebuilding some items. In the process, I've learnt a lot more about VS and I've taken some of the items, redone them with my own images or video and made them my own.
Sure a professional studio will create everything from scratch. It's unlikely to use any of the supplied images, sounds, templates and anything else you care to mention. I'm not working for a professional studio. I suspect most users of VS aren't either.
So for me at least, the 'free' content might be old, the free video clips are all at the wrong resolution, ratio and frame rate for my projects, but it does serve a useful and constructive purpose.
In many ways, I'd love someone at Corel to go back and update many of the images or video clips. I'd also love someone to put together a library of sound effects and bundle that too with VS. This would all cost time and money and no doubt would be added to the product costs, so we'd end up paying more for the next renewal. However, there is nothing stopping an enthusiastic person from creating their own fresh video clips, touching up the images with something new, browsing the Internet for sound effects or other sound clips. Of course, there is nothing stopping someone from recording their own sound clips too.
