I'm trying to install a trial version of PSP X9 and at 33% during the installation portion of the download and install process, I get the message in the title of this post. I have tried every suggestion I can find, even deleting everything in the registry referencing Jasc, Paint Shop, Corel or Ulead.
Running the installation as administrator doesn't work.
Turning off antivirus (Norton) auto-protect and smart firewall doesn't work.
Manually creating a programdata folder and trying to take possession of it doesn't work.
I can't find the downloaded files to delete them and start over despite looking in every temp folder, so the dialog box shows "continue the installation."
Thanks!

Re: "We encountered a problem while installing"
For anyone else who has this problem, these are the instructions I got from Corel that worked:
1. Disable the User Account Controls
http://winaero.com/blog/how-to-turn-off ... indows-10/
2. Turn off your Anti-virus / Firewall application.I forgot to do this but it worked anyway.
3. Turn off all Startup applications
http://www.howtogeek.com/74523/how-to-d ... n-windows/ I used the task manager method.
4. Clear out your Temp folder:
Hold down the Windows and 'R' keys on your keyboard
Type the word: appdata into the run box and click the OK button
Open the Local folder
Open the Temp folder
Delete the items in the Temp folder
5. Retry the install as an administrator.

Re: "We encountered a problem while installing"
Hi Folks,
RE: Win10x64
First post - long time PSP user - still using Jasc PSP 9.1... Wanted to see what was new with Corel - so I downloaded the demo and am unable to install it... It may have stopped the first time at 30% but now it stops at 88%... Some error about "not being compatible with my system" - like maybe a 32 bit vs 64 bit thing ??? Same issue as original poster - I can seem to reset everything for a clean run... The downloaded install files are hidden somewhere and the installer just tries to use the same files over and over without downloading anything new... I've purged all temp directories I am aware of - deleted the installer - deleted the files installed - cleaned the registry - no joy... Every subsequent run starts - goes to around 5 % then jumps all the way to 75% and progresses until it hits 88% and permanently freezes... I've been completely unable to get a clean start on this...\
I tried the steps mentioned above - no joy there as well...
This isn't inspiring confidence in spending money on an upgrade...
Help ?
Thanks...
Regards,
Scott

Did they have to log into your computer to do the setup? I have a support person stating that he needs to remote into my computer to assist with this errorscottb613 wrote:Hi Folks,

You're sure that they're actually from corel? You called them? on the official number?
I would be very cautious about about letting someone do this to my computer. I'd ask them to talk me through it.
