Try closing applications while burning such as antispyware, antivirus, or any memory-resident programs. Try unplugging USB devices such as bluetooth, USB drive, etc. And it is better to have your burning engine updated, try this link:http://www.ulead.com/tech/dmf/dmf.htm ^_^

You have a powerful machine. Shouldn't have to disable everything for the program to work. But, that will eliminate the source of problems when troubleshooting when somethings wrong.
Depends on if you installed "Data-Add" and quickdrop.
That also depends on what other burning software is on your machine.
Can you post more information about what the properties of your source material is. Dv.avi or mpeg videos or other type.
Also, what are the "Project Settings" set to under the "Gear" icon.
It's sounds like MF4 doesn't like the videos your importing.

>>- Nero 6.6 If InCD is loaded then Conflictling
>>- EAC - Sound program shouldn't be a problem
>>- Alcohol 120% - Virtual CD/DVD's shouldn't be a problem
>>- Super DVD Creator - ?
>>- Pinnacle Studio 9.4.3 - If you remove Pinnacle you may have to
re-install the unlead products. Don't know why
but they can stop working.
>>- MovieFactory 1 - Wow.
Under windows Add/Remove I would un-install the following:
Ulead Data-Add
Quick-Drop
Then reboot.
If your Joining any video on the timeline using the join icon the program
has been crashing on my system. Or, very sluggish. Depends if your editing
any of the material.
Right-Click on one of the videos on the timeline and select "Properites"
Then post that information back to this thread.
That would be the properties of the source videos from your recorder.

I uninstalled Data-Add (found it in Add/Remove Software list), but I can't find QuickDrop to uninstall. Yet it is installed.
I disabled InCD.
I opened the file in Ulead MF and again I can scroll with the timecounter till a certain point and then the program freezes.
This morning before I installed MF Content, I didn't have this problem. The problem then was 'only' the crash while burning the DVD...

Maybe re-install MF4 again over the existing installation will fix some files.
InCd never interfered with my system but since I've been backing up over
a network and not packet writing much I removed it.
Data-Add adds 2 or 3 resident drivers that can interfere with burning.
Depends on your system. There is one program called "Monitor" that
monitors when the cd/dvd's have been reset (new media etc).
The monitor program can be programmed to auto-launch other programs.
I removed that also.
I would say make sure to keep your users temp directory clean and
clean up project files you don't need.
Whenever I've had what's happening on your machine not being able to
seek the mpeg2 file the mpeg2 file was usually corrupted in some way.
If I had "Do not convert compliant files" checked and made a dvd then
the dvd desktop player would eventually produce an error
saying "Cannot Play this Disc". That problem was actually bad drivers for my analog capture card.
There is something else you can try if you haven't yet.
Under "Preferences" on the last right tab is a checkbox that says
"Create Index file for better mpeg performance seeking" or similar wording.
I don't have that checked because it takes time to create the index file
but depending how many GOP"s and other settings within the mpeg2 file
you may need that option checked ON.
I would try that.
But, your not trying to naviagate Joined files (using the join icon) are you before
rendering those out to a separate mpeg2 file. If so that's why
you can't naviagate and also why the program is crashing, because of
joining. It's having a problem with all the videos or maybe just one of them.
Maybe that index file thing needs to be checked for joining files.
I'm going to check that out with some files I can't join and see if
that helps,
Also, I don't see anything wrong with those mpeg properties you posted.

It's unbelievable!
I uninstalled Ulead and reinstalled it minus QuickDrop and Data-Add, but again I can't scroll with the timecounter to a certain point.
Well, I didn't already install the patch...
But the first time, yesterdaymorning when I didn't encounter this problem, I had not installed this patch either.
Pfff, never had one problem with MF1! I used it very often.
I have only one file loaded in MF4 and I want to cut out the commercials, there to I have to scroll to the point where the movie starts and that is not possible.

Question #1 - What media are you using, DVD+R or DVD-R etc.
You have Nero which a great burning program.
Using MF4 In the output dvd disc burning/creation stage click on the down-arrow on
the right side of the screen. This displays more options for burning.
If you uncheck burn the physical disk and select "Create DVD Folders"
you can then create a dvd folder structure on the harddisk. It's the same
structure as what would be on the dvd. The point of having it on the harddisk is you can
play the dvd from the harddisk.
Using Ulead dvd player or "PowerDvd" or "Windvd" within those programs
select "Play DVD from harddisk folder" (or similar). This way you can test
the menu's and the video's etc to test them.
Burning the DVD folder on the harddisk to a dvd using Nero:
If you want, use "Nero" to burn the video-dvd for you. When you start Nero
select DVD-VIDEO. In Nero's compilation window drag the contents of the
VIDEO_TS folder on the harddisk to the VIDEO_TS folder in Nero's compilation window.
Then burn the disk.
You can also use MF4's software to burn the dvd folder.
Question #2 - Where did you purchase your cpu cooler?
Does it work very good?
Hope this helps,
