Misted.pspimage
Hi Guys and Girls. I just got back into PSP after a long absence. The last version I used was psp-9 and now I just got pspx9. I have some Misted psp images but I have forgotten how to do them. It seems to me that it involved some sort of mask but the memory escapes me. I can't make head or tails of the paintshoppro-x9 user guide. Thanks for any help you can give.

Are you willing to share an example image? "misted" by itself can mean any number of things. And unless it was a popular effect back in the early 2000s kind of hard to research.

Re: Misted.pspimage
I would like to but I don't know how to upload to this site yet...
So, let's take a different rout with this. I'm not an artist just a cut and paste man. I need to use other people’s tutorials to enjoy using PSPx9. I fake it till I can make it.
ASDwebdesigns is the only shortcut/bookmark I have left that works (http://www.asdwebdesigns.nl/). From there I got a web address to a woman who makes tutorials of beautiful women, nude, semi-nude and fully clothed (http://www.erotische-pspcreaties.nl/).
Her site also has tubes.
(http://www.erotische-pspcreaties.nl/eig ... _tubes.htm) is the address to 15 pages of her wonderful tubes.
On this page, halfway down (12 rows) the last of the three is Drevers 35 misted woman .pspimage. Throw it into pspx9 and there is your example of what I am talking about. It looks like some sort of mask cut out the face which she calls misted. It is my desktop wallpaper now, just enlarged to 1600 x 900 with a background color change to #b51900.
Kind-of long-winded but I’m just getting back into posting on forums.
Anyway, I’m here because the user guide does not explain stuff very well.
It is written for someone that has absolutely no experience with Paint Shop Pro.
You have to read each sentence very carefully and don’t assume you know what it says. I spent two days trying to change the selection tool from a rectangle to an oval till I realized I should be looking up at the tool palette and not at the selection tool itself.
I still can’t make heads or tails of masks and used to use them all the time.
Most tutorials start by giving you the fore and background colors in HTML color code but I still don’t know how to enter it.
It tells you that you can enter the HTML color code but does not tell you how.
Anyway, thanks for your help in advance.

To enter HTML colors, click on the foreground or background swatch and it'll open the materials dialog. On the Color tab in the bottom right-hand corner there is a text box with the current HTML version of the current color. Just paste your HTML color code into this box and it'll change the selected color.
Best not to post a link like that here. There's nothing wrong with artistic nudes, but still. Here's the link to the image download itself.

That image looks just like a regular vignette. So you're talking about a selection with a high feather. Masking is easy, what do you need to know about it? As far as I can tell nothing drastic has changed betwen 9 and X9.

Re: Misted.pspimage
On HTML color codes thanks for the tip. I did not learn from what you said but what you showed.
Because your illustration showed sliders I switched and sure enough I could enter a HTML color code.
I normally using the swatch display mode to select my colors, but in the wheel and swatch display mode the HTML text box is deselected which caused my problem.
I tend of forget how old I am compared to others (I’m 75 on Friday) nudity does not bother me and I didn’t think to just post the download link.
So, My Bad. Sorry.
As far as misting a tube or picture, once you mentioned feathering I knew what to do.
Although not that much has changed between 9 and X9 in a technical sense, the user interface has changed drastically.
It’s like finding out about the HTML text box, or how picture frames work now.
I couldn’t figure out how to change to a different picture frame till I accidently click on it.
The user guide just mentions the Picture Frame group box but not how to get it to appear.
It just says ‘Please choose the picture frame style’. It should say ‘Please click on the picture frame to choose a style’.
I dread installing all my plugins cause, I have a ton of them.
It’s just a matter of finding where everything is at now and how it works now.
