Is it worth to upgrade from VS X9.5 Ultimate to X10 Ultimate
I have upgraded to VS X9.5 ulitmate some weeks ago. Now, with the launch of X10 Ultimate I'm wondering if it's really worth it?? Will there be more Newblue Fx than on X9.5 ??

Re: Is it worth to upgrade from VS X9.5 Ultimate to X10 Ulti
I use VideoStudio ONLY for Blu-ray authoring. I had been using VSX8 and just now upgraded to version X10 "Ultra". The Blu-ray module, which is an affordable 8 bucks (it is an add-on that you can order within the program, although some have asked that if it is "Ultra,"then why isn't it included - whatever...), is buggy and crashes unpredictably. In addition, there are very few BD templates. I, basically, copied them from prior MovieFactory versions in the Corel VideoStudio Pro\20.0\Favorites\HD Basic directory. You see, the more chapters/template, the smaller the final project size. If you have 9 movie chapters, it's nice to be able to put them on one template page, not 9, 3 or even 2. I had expected to find that those issues would be corrected by version X10 but the BD interface is absolutely identical, other than the new VSX10 icon. Here are the issues:
1) Unpredictable cursor behavior on Home/End keys when editing long movie titles; hitting the Esc key causes VS to close, not undo.
2) Unable to save your project as you work unless you exit by selecting "Close" (or hitting Esc). Ctrl-S does nothing in the BD module.
3) If you leave the project and don't save, the BD interface will "get lost" the next time you start it, so you have to remember what directory you put your project in, usually in My Projects.
4) It can crash before you do a Close/Save, especially when selecting Preview, in which case you've lost anything you did to your project.
5) At the final authoring screen, the Label field cannot be edited with a Ctrl-C/V/X/Delete whatever. You have to move the cursor to the right and backspace to delete the default label name or Right-Click and select Paste if you want to use your own label. If you do a Close/Save, the label entry is not saved.
6) My BD writer is an external USB3.0 device. If you plug anything else into a different USB port prior to completion of BD burning, the BD module can't find the writer it found previously and defaults to the internal DVD writer, which obviously can't handle the project size, so it fails and you have to start all over. Don't plug anything else into a USB port until the Burn is completed.
7) BD authoring times are the same.
8) Project size limitation is the same for a standard 25 GB disc, at about 22.6 GB, not 25 GB. Ignore the warnings as long as you are 22.6 GB or smaller.
9) Very limited BD templates, unchanged from version X8, as mentioned above. Once copied in, you can modify them but you can't save the modification for future use.
10) The default moving chapter duration is 20 seconds. You need to make sure that your last chapter is not so close to the end of the movie that it extends beyond the length of the movie or the movie will not play back correctly. Either shorten the duration or, better yet, make that last chapter 1 minute before the end of the movie.
So, if you are only using VS for Blu-ray creation, I have found no reason to upgrade to X10, Ultra or otherwise. By the way, the help files, the user manual PDF and tutorial are presently all for version X9, not X10. If you already have X9 or X9.5, I cannot comment if X10 is significantly better since I only upgraded from 8.
