I've been using PRO X8 for around 18 months now. However, whenever I take my project through to the SHARE phase (onto BluRay disc) the sub-screen that appears is very small. It makes it extraordinarily difficult to view/amend any of the editable items for the menu screens that will eventually appear on the disc. I am still using a relatively ancient Dell 17 inch 4:3 aspect monitor but never had this problem on older versions of VS where it was much bigger. I cannot see a way to increase the overall size of this box - any ideas please ? Incidentally, I do not have space for a new, vast monitor !
Thank you in advance.
PRO X8 - possible to increase size of SHARE sub-screen ?

you can make the preview screen any size you like (in the Edit tab as well)
hover your mouse cursor over the lines I have highlighted in red on the first image - the cursor will change to two parallel lines with little arrows pulling them apart - - left click and slide left and right on the vertical line and up and down on the horizontal line to get the size you want
to restore the share screen you have to reset the lines by hand - but in the Edit screen "Settings >> layout settings >> Switch to >> Default" will restore the edit screen layout

Brian -- he's not talking about the Edit preview screen, but the SHARE screen i.e. the burning module screen which appears once you have selected one of the Disc output options on the Share tab. And as far as I am aware, that one is not adjustable and never has been -- though I have never understood why it is made that way and doesn't come up full screen.

Indeed Ken, you are absolutely correct. Just so odd that in my previous version (VS10) the SHARE screen filled a much larger percentage of the screen. Very infuriating unless anyone has a fix that doesn't involve purchasing a much larger monitor that won't fit my space !

Re: PRO X8 - possible to increase size of SHARE sub-screen ?
Unfortunately, I can't remember back to VS10 without the X -- ten or more years ago now! But I have checked X9, X8, X7 and X6 which are the only versions I still have installed, and they are all about the same size -- although the X6 one looks a bit bigger. But that could be because that version is on a computer connected to a 28" monitor!

It was the SHARE screen I gave information for - because that is what you asked for RICO as in the title of this topic -- -- if you had said the authoring/burning module - sometimes referred to as the "Create Disc" module I would have answered for that window

I'm so sorry you feel that way Brian. I do value the experts' opinions on this forum and I can only apologise that I didn't I didn't use the perfect language to describe my issue. Somebody understood it - thank you Ken - but I shall try harder to be more accurate next time.BrianCee wrote:It was the SHARE screen I gave information for - because that is what you asked for RICO as in the title of this topic -- -- if you had said the authoring/burning module - sometimes referred to as the "Create Disc" module I would have answered for that window

Please continue to try and help people - especially the ones such as myself who are not specific enough.

Re: PRO X8 - possible to increase size of SHARE sub-screen ?
Hi
I have uvs12 installed and for me that burner window is 902 x 685 pixels, I would think that is the same as vs10?
For X9 it is 902 x 684 pixels, as you see practically the same, the colours have changed, the newer black panel may look a little smaller?
I then measured the preview screens
VS 12 480 x 350px approx. 4:3 ratio.
X9 525 x 300 px takes on a widescreen look 16:9
Measurements will reflect my monitor size..........
So yes it may appear a little smaller in height but reflecting the commonly used widescreen videos.
It would be nice to be able to view that panel in full screen, or be resizable.
I am sure that has been raised before with Corel Support.
As I see it the main difference in the older view is the change to 16:9 widescreen look.

lata, you hit the nail right on the head with that statement! .lata wrote:It would be nice to be able to view that panel in full screen, or be resizable.

I have been struggling for many hours while I'm still learning how to Edit and create DVD output files to my hdd. The basic process of 'steps' isn't too hard. I had help with that from this forum, yesterday. My main difficulty now is trying to work with Corel's poor implementation of many of the dialog/edit screens, etc. For no good reason that I can think of, Corel Developers chose to avoid the #1 reason that Microsoft created "Windows." It was created to HAVE windows and to have those windows relocatable and resizeable --[with "Handles," "Minimize"/"Maximize" buttons, etc.]. I'm using Corel's VS-X9U (for MS Windows). My monitor is 23" Widescreen HD. The screen resolution is set to 1920 X 1080. But, too often, I can't even read certain small text nor can I "highlight" then select (or, double-click) one of the tiny little objects on the screen to relocate it and/or resize it! It's the size of a flea on my screen! That's absurd! A good example is the tiny default "arrowhead" which is 'floating in space' and pointing toward some odd direction. Trying to resize that arrow or trying to rotate it results in many mistakes. And, Corel ignored implementing the use of <Ctrl>Z to undo mistakes! More absurdity! What started out as fun for me has become really frustrating. Obviously, they don't even test their own products in-house before putting them onto the market for sale. Or else, they just don't give a damn about user-friendliness. Sorry for my grumpy mood.
