Voice over not working VSX10
I have recently downloaded VS10 and used voice over for two movies but when it came to the third an error message came up "Could not open wave in device." Has anyone else experienced this issue? Have spent ages with Corel and a bloke remoted in from Corel Canada but couldn't fix it. I have Win 10 OS.

Re: Voice over not working VSX10
I had the similar problem on my laptop. I solved it by checking and clicking on the sound/recording icon and turned on the mike. Now, no problems.

Could you please better explain what you actually did in details to solve the problem?pepegota wrote:I had the similar problem on my laptop. I solved it by checking and clicking on the sound/recording icon and turned on the mike. Now, no problems.
Actually I'm also experiencing the same problem (see my post of February 2016: No voice-over recording with VS X9 and VS X7). I could temporarily fix it following Corel suggestion to export my libraries, reset VS to its default settings, then reimport the saved VS libraries: it worked for a while then the problem reappeared...It really looks it has something to do with creating/modifying libraries...
I'm really disappointed to see the problem also exists with VSX10 that I was planning to buy...By the way, whenever you install a new release of VS, is it better to uninstall the previous version (s)?
Thanks for your help.

Re: Voice over not working VSX10
This is basic Windows knowlegde.
1. Right click on your sound icon in system tray-it should be there and if not put it there. Google for windows know how if needed.
2. click the recording tab
3.Highlight the Mike Icon and right click to enable.
4. Click OK and close window.
Now, you should have sound in VS. If not, the problem lies elsewhere the mike or the driver.

Re: Voice over not working VSX10
Thanks, of course my mike was already on. The problem is not with the mike, which is functioning OK with any other application, but has something to do with the libraries. As I mentioned, resetting VS to default value and reimporting the libraries fix the issue. But this appears again later on...

What about a clean reinstall.

Re: Voice over not working VSX10
Hi
Voice Over fails with Device Error: Cannot Open Wave-In Device
This fails every time when Project Properties are set to use “Dolby Digital Audio, 48 KHz, 3/2(L,C,R,SL,SR)”
Please set your Project Properties to use Stereo (2/0(L/R)
Let us know if that fixes your problem?

Hi Trevor,
thanks, I'd already found the same solution as you suggest: actually this fixes the problem.
